Abstract
A new Dahlia plant designated ‘KLEDH18127’ particularly distinguished by light pink inflorescences, is disclosed.
Description
Genus and species: Dahlia x hybrida.
Variety denomination: ‘KLEDH18127’.
The present invention comprises a new and distinct variety of Dahlia, botanically known as Dahlia x hybrida, and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘KLEDH18127’. ‘KLEDH18127’ originated from a controlled cross conducted in autumn 2014 in Stuttgart, Germany, between the proprietary female Dahlia ‘DH-2013-0243’ (not patented) and the proprietary male Dahlia ‘DH-2013-0085’ (not patented).
In 2015, a seedling was selected and named ‘KLEDH18127’. ‘KLEDH18127’ was first vegetatively propagated by vegetative stem cuttings in 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany, and Latina, Italy. ‘KLEDH18127’ was found to reproduce true to type in successive generations of asexual propagation.
The following are the most outstanding and distinguishing characteristics of ‘KLEDH18127’ when grown under normal horticultural practices in Stuttgart, Germany.
-
- 1. Light pink inflorescences; and
- 2. A compact, semi-upright habit.
This new Dahlia plant is illustrated by the accompanying photograph of the plant approximately 11 to 12 weeks old and grown in a greenhouse in Stuttgart, Germany. The photograph shows the whole plant, unless otherwise noted, including the inflorescences and foliage and buds and was taken in May 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany. The colors shown are as true as can be reasonably obtained by conventional photographic procedures.
The following detailed descriptions set forth the distinctive characteristics of ‘KLEDH18127’. The data which define these characteristics were collected from asexual reproductions carried out in Stuttgart, Germany. Data was collected on plants potted the week of Jun. 11, 2018 and grown in a plastic greenhouse. Color references are to The R.H.S. Colour Chart of The Royal Horticultural Society of London (R.H.S.), 5th edition (2007).
