Abstract

A new Dahlia plant designated ‘KLEDH18122’ particularly distinguished by yellow inflorescences, is disclosed.

Description

Genus and species: Dahlia x hybrida.
Variety denomination: ‘KLEDH18122’.
BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT ‘KLEDH18122’
The present invention comprises a new and distinct variety of Dahlia, botanically known as Dahlia x hybrida, and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘KLEDH18122’. ‘KLEDH18122’ originated from an open pollination of the female Dahlia parent ‘DH-2014-1264’ (unpatented) in Stuttgart Germany in 2013.
In 2014 a seedling was selected and named ‘KLEDH18122’. In 2015, ‘KLEDH18122’ was first vegetatively propagated by vegetative stem cuttings. ‘KLEDH18122’ was found to reproduce true to type in successive generations of asexual propagation in Stuttgart, Germany and Latina, Italy via vegetative stem cuttings.
SUMMARY OF ‘KLEDH18122’
The following are the most outstanding and distinguishing characteristics of ‘KLEDH18122’ when grown under normal horticultural practices in Stuttgart, Germany.
    • 1. Yellow inflorescences and dark foliage; and
    • 2. A compact, semi-upright habit.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPH
This new Dahlia plant is illustrated by the accompanying photograph of the plant approximately 11 to 12 weeks old and grown in a greenhouse in Stuttgart, Germany. The photograph shows the whole plant, unless otherwise noted, including the inflorescences and foliage and buds and was taken in May 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany. The colors shown are as true as can be reasonably obtained by conventional photographic procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF ‘KLEDH18122’
The following detailed descriptions set forth the distinctive characteristics of ‘KLEDH18122’. The data which define these characteristics were collected from asexual reproductions carried out in Stuttgart, Germany. Data was collected on plants potted the week of Jun. 11, 2018 and grown in a plastic greenhouse. Color references are to The R.H.S. Colour Chart of The Royal Horticultural Society of London (R.H.S.), 5th edition (2007).
