Be it known that I, BERNE NADALL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kingstonupon-Thames, in the county of Surrey, England, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Type Ornaments, of which the following is a specification.

My design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographical impression, the representations of the type composing the font being numbered 1 and 2.

The main feature of the design presented by each of the types composing the font is that it includes a conventional outline illustration of two three-lobed leaves, the stems of which are connected by two compoundcurved lines. The two compound curved lines intersect with those forming the stems of the leaves in such a manner as to present the appearance of a band connecting the ends of said stems.

The designoccupies a space substantially square, and in the form numbered 1 the outline leaf-like forms are arranged at the upper 1eft-hand and lower right-hand corners of the design, the stem-lines of such forms extend ing to the lower left-hand and upper righthand corners, respectively. The form num bored 2 has these parts arranged in relatively reverse positionthat is, the leaf-like forms are here placed in the upper right-hand and lower left-hand corners of the design, while the stems thereof extendto the lower righthand and upper left-hand corners.

The several type ornaments herein described are of uniform design and are adapted to be grouped in variousways to form borders and other composite typographic ornaments.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a font of type ornaments, substantially as herein shown and described.
