Be it known that I, JOHN H. BELYLAMY, of Charlestown, in the county of Middlesex, and State of Massachnsetts, have invented a new and improved Design for` ClovckFront; and I hereby declare that the following is a full description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

My invention consists of a design for a clock-front, composed of emblematic symbols so arranged as to form an open-'work design, as follows, to wit:

A represents a circle, intended to enclose the dial of the clock. Above the circle, and resting upon it, is a square, B, with a pair of Compasses, C, and the letter G." On the right of the square are a. twenty-fourinch gauge, D, and a gavel, E, and on the left a star, F. On either side of the circle Ais a pillar, H, surmounted with a chapiter, I, with a. globe, J. Beneath the circle Aare an hour-glass, K, and wings L, and below the hour-glass is an opening, nearly circular, M, intended for showing or starting the pendulum of the clock. On the right of the hour-glass and wings is a three-round ladder, N; on the left two parallel lines, O, enclosing an open book, P, and a circle, Q; the whole substantially as shown in the accompanying photograph.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A design for clock-front, substantially as shown and described.
