DESIGN POR A PICTURE FRAME.
'ro ALL WHoM 1T MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JoHN H. BELLAMY, of Charlestown, in the county of Middlesex, and State of Massa chusetts, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Picture Frame; and I hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making part of' this specification, in which is represented n plane of said picture frame.
My invention consists in a picture frame surrounded by emblems or symbols so arranged and grouped together as to produce an open-work design of an ornamental appearance.
In the said drawing is the frame or moulding A, at the bottom centre of which is a cluster of emblems or symbols, embracing a trowel, 1, spade 2, piek-axe 3, bar 4, and level 5; on one side there being a. bee-hive, (i, and ark 7, and anchor 8, and on the other side a cable, 9, lnallet 10, chisel 11, and the forty-seventh problem, 12, in Euclid. On either side of the frame A. is a pillar, 13, there being placed at the top of each a chapiter, 14, and at the top of each chapitcr a globe, 15. At the top centre of the frame A is an eye, 16, beneath which are u. square, 17, and compass 18, enclosing the letter G, 19, the said square resting upon a key-stone, 20, which comprises part of the frame A. On one side of the said square and compass is a square, 21, a book 22, sword 23, gavel 24, and a ladder, 25. On the other side is a plumb, 26, a sword 27, heart 28, a twenty-four inch gauge, 29, two perpendicular parallel lines 30, enclosing a book, 31, and circle 32, the whole being encircled and supported by ornamental scroll-work. p
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A design for a picture frame, substantially as shown and described.
