UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MYRON H. KINSLEY, OF NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON OR FORK HANDLE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MYRON H. KINsLEY, of Niagara Falls, in the county of Niagara and State of New York, have invented a. new Design for Spoon or Fork Handles; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to he a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face view.
This invention relates to a design for spoon and fork handles; and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation, as shown in the accompanyingillustration, and more fully hereinafter described.
The handle from the narrower part gradually expands in width to the upper end. The end of the handle is straight and at right angles to the central line of the spoon the corners clipped. About midway of the handle is an ornamented boss, and from that bossa plain bead on each side follows the edge to the clipped corners, and there extends across, parallel with the end of the spoon. Below the head, which crosses at the top, and parallel therewith, is an ornamental band. Starting from the lower side of this ornamental band, at one side, a band oflace'work extends diagonally to the opposite side, and beneath the horizontal band, and on the side opposite where the diagonal band starts, is a fan-shaped ornament, filling the angle between the horizontal band and the head on the edge, the ornamentation being as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The herein-described design for a spoon, con sisting of the gradually-expanding handle, the plain head upon its two edges crossing horizontally near the tip, the ornamental band across the face of the handle below the horizontal head, with a diagonal band of lace-work extending from the head on one side to the head on the opposite side, and as shown in the accompanying illustration.
