IMPROVED NECK-YOKE.

The Schedule` referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern..-

Be it known that I, J OHN J'Aoos, of Oneida, in the county of Knox, and in the State of Illinois, have invent-ed certain new and useful Improvements 4in Neck-Yoke; and do hereby declare-that the following is-a full, clear, and fexact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawingrs, and .to the letters of reference marked thereon.

'.lhe nat-ure of my invention consists in the manner of fastening the leather holdback to the neck-yoke, andin the construction ot' the devices by mealns of whioh such fastening is accomplished,

Ilrorder to enable others skilled in the art to-whioh will now proceed to describe lits construction and operation, referringr to theannexed drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure 1 is a bottom view of a plate secured on the upper side of the yoke; i l Eig'ure 2 is a front \'ie'\`v,}jartfn section, of the neckyoke; and

Figure 3 is a plan viewof aplate secured on the lower side of the yoke.`

A represents the yoke, through the centre of which a bolt, B, is passed from below.

Around the bolt B,'resting on the bolt-head, is a clip or bent bar, C, between the ends of which the leather holdbaek D is attached.

The bolt B is eut with one or more longitudinal gllooves, as seen in iig. 2, and'on the under side of the yoke A, above the clip (Land around the bolt, is placed by means of the lugs n. a', in the lgrooves on the holt,

will prevent the bolt from turning in the yoke. l

On the upper side. of the. yoke, around the bolt B,

is another pla-te or washer (l, provided with pins c e, which are inserted in the upper side of the yoke. The

holt B isthen secured by the nut ll.

1. The longitudinally-groovml'bolt Il, provided with the clip .-,in which the leather holdbaok l) is secured,-

substantially shown and described.

2. The plate, or washer E, provided with lugs, or

projections a a, and pins b b, substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.

3. The combination and arrangement of the yoke A, bolt B, clip G, holdback I), plates or washers E G, and nut H,all substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
