Figure l, of the drawings, is a perspective view.
Figures 2 and 3 are details.
My invention relates to meansA for setting the teeth of saws; and
It consists, malnly, in a novel arrangement of devices intended to serve as eicient means for the purr'arrange the sliding and adjustable block B, in the manner shown on g'.' 1,' and I also insert into said raised platform an anvil, at the` point O.
The letter D represents atrip-hamnrer, constructed in the form shown.
Its handle is passed through the rotating shaft E, and extendsto therear thereof, for `the purpose h'ereinaftermentioned. A
The letter F represents a spring, attached at oneend tothe bed-plate of the frame, whileits -other en d rests against the bottom of the handle at the rear of the shaft, as shown.
arms K, that" serve as trips, working upon the rear end of the hannner-handle.
This trip is worked by means of the'crank P,. at
.tacliedto the end of the trip-shaft. The letters' K represent adjustable blocks, arranged to serve as bearings for the trip-shaft, and made adjustable in the side of the frame by lmeans of suitable.
slots cut-in said frame, through which lset-screws are passed; uniting the blocks respectively to said frame, y in the manner shown.
These slots in the frame are represented by the letter a, and the set-screws by letter c." A l l Between the heads of Vthese'set-screws, respectigelly, and the sides of the frame, I arrange Indiafrubber washers, shown at s.
In operating my. device, the adjustable block B serves as 'a guide to regulate the depth of the set in y y accordance withthe length of the saw-tooth, and thev which the hammer shall he raised. a
What I claim as-my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-.
blocks K' serve as means for regulating the height to The machine for setting saws-herein described, having frame A, blocks.,B and K', hammer D, t'rip G, and spring F, whenfconstructed and arranged substantially as specified.
.Intestimouy untosubscribed that claim the above,I have hereJ my name, in the presence of two' wit- UCSSCS.' WILLIAM DUESLER.
