Letters Patent No. 95,330, dated September 28, 1869.'
IMPROVED MEDICAL COMPOUND.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and makingpaxt or the same.
I, N. T. DRAKE, M. D. of High Point, county of Guilford, State of North Carolina, have inventeda certain Improved Medical Compound or Liniment, of which the following is a specification.
Oarbolic acid,- one dracljm Tincture of capsicum, one ounce;
Tincture of opium, half ounce;
Spirits of camphor, half ounce;
Ohloroform, one ounce;
Aqua ammonia, half ounce;
Oil of Sassafras, two drach'ms;
Oil of cinnamo one drachm;
Alcohol, four ounces.
Mix. by first putting oil of Sassafras, oil of cinnamon, and alcohol in a bottle, and let it stand thirty minutes. Then addall the other ingredients, and shake \vell every hour for four hours, at the end of which time it will be ready for use.
The linimentis a safe, certaimand speedy relief for neuralgia, rheumatism, headache, toothache, sprains, bruises, and spinal irritations, to be used by moisten- 1. The mode of compounding the several ingredicuts into a liniment, and applying and administering the same as described above.
2. The medical compound produced by combining carbolic acid with an essential oil and one or more tinctures, such as above named, or their inedicial equivalents.
