Be it known that I, HERBERT A. MODON- .ALD, a-citizen ofthe UnitedStates of America, residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garments, of which the following is a specif cation, reference being had thereinxto the accompanying drawings.

The invention relates particularly to a4 garment pocket especially adapted for holdlng hea and conslsts primarily in a' reinforced pocket whereby the tools or other articles can .be carried without injury to the garment.

The invention further consists in the peculfiar arrangement and combination of parts, and in certain details of construction as will be more fully hereinafter setl forth.

In the drawings,-Figure l is a view in' front elevation of a'pocket embodying my invention; and Figs. 2 and 3 are sections taken respectively on lines :v--w and y-y of upper edge d unstitched, forming the pocket mouth.

and along the bottom `edge thereof, reinforcin'g the portion of the pocket that supports the weight and strengtheningl the pocket in the-'desired manner.

stitched uponhthe lower end of the pocketottom/ edges of the facing are turned in,

- forming hem portions z, 1I respectively. The

corresponding side edges and bottom edge of the reinforcement are turned lnwardly, as indicated by the reference letters 'y' lc, the

reinforcement and facing are stitched to the body fabric. Finally, the upper 'edge ofthe reinforcement is turned inwardly, as indicated at Z, and the4 hem thus formed is stitched to the facing, as indicated in Fig. 2, along the `entire top edge of the reinforcement.

What I claim as my invention is,-

The combination wlth: a garment body, of

turned-in portions embracing the hem of the facing, and the adjoining portions of thea facing for forming a pocket, and a reinforcement for the lower ing having its top and si e edges secured to the facing and having its lower edge turned inward, the inturned edge being interposed between the lower edge of the facing and the body fabric and said lower edge of the facing and the inturned edge of the remforcement being stitched tosaid fabric.l
