To all whom 'it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GILES A. TITUs, oi' the town of Mantorville, in the county of Dodge, and State of Minnesota, have invented new and useful Improvements in- Distributers for Sowing and Drilling Grain; and AI do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof,'reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, in Which- Figure 1 shows a longitudinal vertical section.

Figure 3, the cylinder' of the distribnter, having slots cnt angular for the slides b to pass through, and

a collar, f, on each end of said cylinder, and also having a groove cut'in the inside ends thereof, to receivea rubber ring, c, which said ring is held in its place by notches in the endsof the slides or buckets, cone a having a flange, d?, therein, forthe purpose of revolving s aid cylinder; a rod, B, passes 'through said cone a, to which said cone is rigidly attached.

The operation is as follows: By extending said cone a thrugl the cylinder,` the slides or buckets b are made to extend outward from .the centre' thereof, and when revolving, carry the grain to the vplace of the delivery, and by withdrawing said cone q, the contraction of the rubber rings c brings the slides or buckets b inward toward the centre of said cylinder, and by thus withdrawing said cone a, as aforesaid, the quantity of grain distributed, per acre, can be regulated, or

the distribution thereof entirely stopped, at the pleas-y ing and the withdrawing of said slides 4,or buckets b toward the centre of said cylinder, and whenever applied to drills or broadcast seeders, using for that purpose, the aforesaid cylinder, slides, or buckets, rubber ring and cone; or any other substantially the same, which will `produce the intended eiect.
