Letters Patent No'. 90,870, lated June 1, 1869.
IMPROVEMET IN BOOK-HOLDERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the saune.V
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WESLEY S. PoULsoN, of Cadiz, in the county of Harrison, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in a Oombined Book-Holder and Pen-Rack; and do hereby declare that the following is av full, clear, and exact efficient means than'have heretofore been known for holding an open book, for reading or copying.
The letter A ofthe drawings represents a board cut out in the centre and at one end, in the form shown, and having'a cross-bar, or rest,a, fastened across its open end.
B isa door, hinged or pivoted, near its lower end, to the board A, as shown, and, when closed, resting its upper end upon the cross-bar a.
The letters c are pins, with bolt-heads, driven into the door B, at the ,point indicated, which serve as a support for the bottom of the book.
C is a wire, bent in the formof a coiled spring at each end, and which said coiled ends are adj usted in openings formed for that purpose in the door B.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The book-holder, herein described and shown, when constructed with board A, door B, cross-bar a., pins c, coiled wire O, ratchet d, and pawl s, arranged and operating substantially as specified.
