Description

No. 882,117. PATENTED MAR. 17, 1908.
M. H. MOBLHONE.
FINGER PAD. APPLICATION FILED OOT.21, 1907.
INVENTOH.
M ATTORNEY MARY HASKIN MCELHONE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
FINGER-PAD.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 17, 1908.
Application filed October 21, 1907. Serila No. 398,521.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY HASKIN Mo- ELHONE, citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fin er-Pads, of which the follow ing is a speci cation.
The present invention relates to animroved finger pad of the character employed or handling papers and performing work of a similar nature, and its object is to produce a simple and inex ensive pad provided with means for easily placing the same upon and removing itfrom the fingers and for leaving as much of the finger free as possible.
In the accompanying drawing I have illustrated the invention and therein Figure 1 shows two such finger pads in use; Fig. 2 is a sideelevational view of the pad; and Fig. 3 is afront view of the same.
The pad which is preferably made of elastic material such as rubber, consists of the circular member A which is designed to encircle the finger and to cover the ball thereof, and the two projecting ends B, C which are intended to be secured together preferably by an adhesive substance, such as cement and which when secured together,
roject at right angles to the circular memiier A and form a handle by means of which, the pad may be placed upon and removed from the fingers.
even though the It Will be noted that I have produced an article which is very sim le in construction and which may becheap y manufactured in varying slzes.
The ad covers just sufficient of the finger to faci itate the handling of papers and the like but is not clumsy or cumbersome, and Eads be on the fingers, a pen or pencil may e used without difliculty.
As s own in Fig. 1, several pads may be employed, one upon the thumb and one upon the index finger or upon the middle finger to suit the convenience of the user,
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A finger pad consisting of a continuous, comparatively thin band of highly resilient material formed into a circular member adapted to encircle a finger, said band being free of all metallic parts and having its ends turned at right angles to the circular portion and securely joined together to form a handle whereby the entire pad may be adjusted upon the finger of the wearer.
In testimony whereof I have affixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
\ MARY HASKIN MCELHONE.
