lNVENTOR ATTORNEY HARRY HEGG, DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
BLOTTER.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Feb. 26, 1918.
Application led November 2, 1916. Serial No. 129,182.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARRY HEGG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of 1Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Blotters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved blotter and the principal obj ect of the invention is to provide a blotter so constructed that it may be connected with the wrist of the user, the frame being curved to conform to the shape of the wrist and the blotting paper being connected with this Jrame.
Another object of the invention is to so construct the frame that it may be releasably and adjustably connected with the wrist and to further so construct it that the blotting paper when used may be removed and a new piece put in place.
This invention is illustrated in the ac-` companying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a top plan view of the improved blotter,
Fig. 2 is a bottom plan of the blotter,
Fig. 8 is a transverse sectional view taken along the line 3 3 of Fig. l, and
Fig. et is a transverse sectional view taken along the line Al--fl of Fig. 1.
The frame or body portion 1() of thisA device is curved transversely as shown in Figs. 3 and 4 and may be formed of any suitable material desired7 either being formed of metal covered with telt or other protecting material, card-board in one or more layers or of any suitable composition. The blotter 11 is connected with this frame either by side flanges or clips 12 and it will thus be seen that when the blotter is used,' it may be removed and a new piece put in place. The securing straps 13 and 14C which pass about the wrist are connected with the eyes 15 extending from the frame and it will thus be seen that this blotter may be connected with a wrist of any size and securely held in place.
When the device is in use, it is placed against the wrist and straps are then passed about the wrists and connected by means of the buckle 16. This blotter will therefore be at all times ready for use and will further serve as a protecting pad preventing the wrist and hands from resting upon the lower portion of the page.
YVhat is claimed is ..A device of the character described comprising a body, separate side strips of resilient material extending along said body and provided with inwardly extending flanges extending beneath the lower face ot the body in spaced relation thereto, tongues extending from the sidev strips and secured to said body to connect the side strips with the body and permit the strips to be sprung outwardly to engage a sheet ot' blotting materia'l and hold the sheets against the body, and means connected with the body for connecting the body with the wrist ot the user.
In testimony whereof I atlix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
