IMPROVEMENT IN BUSKS FOR GORSETS.

To all whom it may concern.:

Be it known that I, EDWARD HEA'roN, of New Hnven, in the county of New Haven, and Stute of Connecticut,lmve invented nncw Improvement in Bushs Afor Corsets, and I do hereby declare the following,

Ais the stzty, of the usual size end form, and et the pau-ts of curvature, I zur-ange, upon the convex side, a. vsteel spring, B, riveted through the stay, as at a, so es to secure the spring to the stay, and the spring curved, so as to hold the material in proper form. This construction produces a much lighter clasp than when mede of nietei, and at a less cost. p l

The best materiel known to Ine for this purpose is White hickory; yet other, as whalebone or hard rubber, 'mu-y be used, having lauxiliary springs arranged thereon, es described.`

Having thus fully described myinvention, What I claim es new and useful, and desire tosecure by Letters Patent, is 'l YThe corset-steels, or stays,V herein described, consisting of the wooden stay A, provided with metallic springs B, arranged thereon, in the manner substantiaily its described, 'as an article of-mennfacture.
