Application filed August 80, 1906- Serial No. 882,644.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, Laws RUTENBECK, citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Lost Nation, Clinton county, Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Overalls, of which the following is a specification.
My inventlon relates to overalls; and the object of my invention is to one-piece overalls provide with suita le pockets and with proper'fastenin means.
.This object I have accomplis ed by the means which are hereinafter described and claimed, and which are illustrated :in the accompanying drawing, which is a .front elevation of my improved one-piece overalls as it appears when s read out flat and the fastening means detac ed from each other. 1
The overalls conplist of a substantially rectan ar iece a, a at its u er end the br d s t-figp b. The ld i 'er portiditi of the piece a is separated, asshown, into two depending leg-pieces.
K is a stra fastened to one breast-flap b means of 1a rivet at, said strap being provide with a clip Z, arranged to de tachably connect with a'button m on the other corner of said breast-fla t. A similar strap '5, is fastened at one en to one upper corner of the piece a by means of a rivet w.
Said strap '5 is provided with a cli'ps, adapted to detachably connect with a button 11, on the other upper corner of the piece (1,.
e e are short loops whose lower ends are fastened by means of the rivets o 'v .and whose upper ends are fastened by means of the button 1 and rivet w, respectively, to the upper corner portions of the front part of the 1ece a. a
p To the inner sides of the le -fiaps straps f f are fixedly secured at one end by means of rivets t t, and to said leg-fla s, below the straps f j, other straps g g are edly secured by means of rivets u u.
Clips r are laced on the straps f g, respectivel y,- to etachably connect with the buttons 0 p on the outside edges of the said le -flaps. Upon the upper front portion of the piece (provide a sim 1e cornerof the.-
a, above the leg-flaps, are placed the large pockets 0 c, and between them is placed the smaller pocket d. A short distance below the pockets c c are placed small pockets h h, situated near the outside edges of the legflaps. a
The breast-flap b is suspended by means of the strap in, passing about the neck of the .wearer, the strap '5 asses around the body below the arms, whi e the straps f and g are used to fasten the le -flaps around the le s. The pockets 0 and may beused by t e wearer to contain nails, screws, or other articles, while the small pockets h are adapted tocontain such a 'tool as a carpenters rule. The strap a may be used to hold a hammer or other article.
My improved overalls are easily detached from the erson of the wearer by the means shown and serve to cover only that part of the person where it will be e osed to the most wear with the least expen 'ture of material. Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to' secure by Letters Patent, is'
