Be it known that 1, DAVID KIsoH, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Ladys Stock-Collar, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The purpose of the invention is to provide a stock-collar for ladies, so constructed that one section can be separated from the other and the same section replaced or a similar section substituted, it being possible to connect or disconnect the sections in an expeditions and convenient manner and to so place the sections together that one will appear integral with the other.

The invention consists in the novel construction and combination of the several parts. as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and pointed out in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the complete collar, its ends having been brought together. Fig. 2 is a transverse section taken practically on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1, being drawn upon an enlarged scale. Fig. 3 is a partial plan view and a partial perspective view of the two end portions of the collar, one section being partially separated from the other to illustrate how the sections are connected at their ends, the said view being taken from the inside of the collar; and Fig. A is a front elevation of the upper section of the collar disconnected from the lower one.

The collar consists of two sections A and B, adapted to be connected in a detachable manner, so that sections of different collars can be grouped together, either or both sections being of washable material, if desired. The lower section B, which may be termed the foundation-section, consists of a body- .strip 10 of suitable shape and length and one or more pendent sections 11, which are attached to the central portion of the body-strip at its lower edge, as is shown best in Fig. 2.

1n the further construction of the foundation-section B the pendent members 11 are preferably laid one over the other, as is illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, and, as is particularly shown in the latter figure, a button 12 is secured to the bod y-strip 10 at the central portion of its outer face. The upper or attached section A comprises a body-strip 13 of the same length and substantially of the same general shape as the corresponding member of the pendent section B except that the bodystrip A is wider.

A pendent member 14: is attached to or is made integral with the lower central edge portion of the body-strip 13, and a recess 15 is produced in the lower edge of the body member 13 at each side of the pendent member 14:, as is illustrated particularly in Fig. i, and in the upper portion of the pendent member 14 a buttonhole 16 is made. When one section is to be placed upon another, the upper central edge portion of the body member 10 of the lower or foundation section B is passed back of the pendent member of the upper section A and is made to enter the recesses 15 of the said upper section A, as is shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and then the pendent member 14 of the upper section of the collar, which will now cross the outside of the lower section B at its body and pendants, is secured to the body .member of the lower section by means of the button 12 and the buttonhole 16, above referred to. The end portions of the body members 10 of the lower section B rest upon the outer face of the corresponding portions of the upper section A, as is indicated in Fig. 3, and the attachment between the two sections is made at such parts preferably by locating eyes 17 on the front face of the section A, adapted to receive hooks 18 on the inner or back face of the section B.

It will be observed that under this construction of a stock-collar the upper section or the lower section may be changed and another section substituted, so as to vary the character of the collar, and that that section which is close to the neck namely, the upper section-may be made of a washable material and preferably is so made, so that the entire collar need not be thrown away whenthe upper portion becomes soiled, as such upper portion can be removed and washed.

Having thus described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A ladys stock-collar constructed in two sections connected in a removable manner, each section being provided with a pendent member.

2. A ladys stock-collar constructed in sections one extending above the other and each provided with a pendent member, the members overlying one another, and means for removably connecting the sections.

3. Aladys stock-collar,comprisingtwosections one extending above the other, the sections being provided with pendent members overlying one another and devices on the inner and outer faces respectively of the sections at the ends of the said sections and at their central portions, for removablyconnecting them.

4. A ladys stock-collar, comprising alower or foundation section provided with pendent members between its ends and a button above the said pendent members, and an upper section adapted to extend partially above the lower section, which upper section is likewise provided with a pendent member having the buttonhole to receive the button of the lower section, the said pendent member of the upper section being adapted to extend across the front of the lower section to a position over its pendent members, and the said upper section being provided with a recess in its lower edge at each side of its pendant, and hook-andeye connections between the end portions of the said sections, for the purpose described.

5. A ladys stock-collar,comprising an outer section, and an inner section wider than the outer section and provided with a pendent member at its front extending over the outer section.

6. A ladys stock-collar, comprising an outer section provided with a button at its front and an inner section wider than the outer section and provided at its front with a pendent member extending over the outer section and having a buttonhole therein to receive the button of the outer section. v

7. A ladys stock-collar,comprising an inner section having a pendent member at the front, and provided with a notch or recess at each side of the pendent member, and an outer section of less Width than the inner section and passing under the pendent member of the inner section.

8. A ladys stock-collar,comprising an outer section provided with a plurality of pendent members at its lower edge, and an inner section of greater width than the outer section and provided with a pendent member under which the outer section passes and overlying the pendent members of the said outer section.

9. A ladys stock-collar, comprising an inner section having a pendent memberatits front, provided with a buttonhole, notches being formed in the lower edge of the section at opposite sides of the pendent member, and an outer section of less width than the inner section, passing under the pendent member of the inner section and provided with a button for engaging the buttonhole of the said pendent member.
