IMPROVEMENT IN PENCIL-HOLDERS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JONATHAN SMITH, of Tin, in the county of Seneca', and in the State of Ohio, have invented certain new-nud useful Improvements in Pencil-Holders; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification..
My invention consists in an oblong metal tube, provided withan opening in its side, near the upper end, around which opening is a tight-tting-rubber bend, said tube and band being inserted in the vest of a person, between the lining and Outside.

What I claim as new, und desire to securev'by Letters Patent, is- I The elongated tube A, with an opening in its side, -nround which opening and tube is an India-rubber band, G, said tube being provided with teeth e e, for securing it within the garment, for holdinga pen or pencihas set forth.
