SPEGIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent 1\T o. 691,133, dated January 14, 1902.
Application led May 14,1901. Serial liloK 60.166. (No model.)
fo all whom it may concern.:
Be it known that I, ISAAC GOURES, a citizen ofthe United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, inV
the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Slide Loop-.(llip, of which the following is a full, clear, and eX- act description.
This invention relates to improvements in clips for holding a supporting strap or loop as adjusted on a belt of elastic webbing or the like; and the object is to provide a device of this character that shall be simple in construction and that when in positionwill prevent the loop or strap from sliding along the web, and, further, to so arrange the clip that it will not cut into the web or soil the same during its movement.
I will describe a slide loop-clip embodying my invention and then point out the novel features in the appended claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a front elevation showing a portion of a web or belt and slide-loop with my invention applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1, and Fig. f1 is a perspective View of the clip.
Referring to the drawings, 10 designates a belt, which maybe of anysuitable materialsuch, for instance, as elastic webbing-and from which a supporting-strap 11 depends. The supporting-strap 11 is connected to a buckle l2, attached to a loop 13, adjustable lengthwise of the belt or web 10. This loop 13 at the inner side of the belt has two sections or thicknesses 14 and l-that is, the material forming the loop is turned over the web and thence upward at the inner side thereof, while the lower edge is secured by stitching 16.
The clip consists of a strip of wire bent to form an inner frame-like portionl and an outer frame-like portion 18. The portion 17 is designed to slide through the line of stitching at the lower edge and between the parts 14 and 15 of the loop, so that the said part 14 will prevent the clip from coming in contact with the web. The portion 1S of the clip, as clearly shown in the drawings, is designed to engage against the upper side of the loop at the front.
In operation by sliding the clip downward, as indicated in Fig. 3, the loop 13 may be moved freelyto any portion of the belt lor web, and when in its adjusted position the clip is to be moved upward, as indicated in Figs. 1 and 2, thus securely locking the loop in position. The ends of the clip may be left open, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 1, or the ends may be soldered together, as at 19 in Fig. t. The wire will preferably be springyielding.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A slide loop-clip, comprising a single length of wire bent to forin an inner framelike section and an outer frame-like section, the ends of said wire being secured together, a belt, and a loop mounted to slide on said belt, the inner section of the clip being arranged between the material of the loop and the belt, the said clip being held from detachment by the line of stitching across the lower portion of the loop, substantially as specified.
2. In a suspending device, a belt or web, a loop extended around said belt or web and adapted to slide thereon, the said loop comprising two thicknesses at the inner side, and a clip consisting of wire having an inner frame like section adapted to slide between the two inner laps or portions of the sliding loop, and a frame-like section to engage against the outer surface of said loop, substantially as specied.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
