TO ALL WHOM 1T MAY (IONGERNrl Be it known that I, JOSEPH V. HARMAN, n new und improved Pendulum Chuin Iowcr, of which the following is a full and clear description thereof, reference 'being had to the accompanying drawings, making a. part of this specifica/tion.
My improvement relates to :t system of levers to which motion is Communicated by elock-ivork, the levers being in connection with churn dnsher, causevthem to pnssbaek und forth in the body of the churn.
Figure I represents n. perspective view of my improved pendulum churn power applied to a. churn with twoV dosher. l I 5 Figure 2 is a. front elevation of the saine, with a. vertical section of the b A is a. weight, attached to cord a, .which is coiled'obout the drum The B. Upon the avxle of the drum b is secured `the gear-wheel c, meshing into the pinion d.4 The axle of pinion d is continued withoutthe frame B, und hears .upon its extreme outer end the ratchetwheele. To the verge f, which engages the ratchet-wheel c, is secured' the check-hm' g. It`passes down by, the sideofthe pendulum C, and loosely clasps it near its middle point, h.. At n suitable distance below theI point-.of suspension oft-he pendulum C, n bar, D, lis secured to thependulum in o, transverse position tofit",k '13o-the extreme ends of bar D are piveted links E E. The loner ends of these links are .pvoted to the shout levers F F. The levers F F are pivoted to the frame B at i z'. The clash handles G G' ore pivcted to;v the inner or short arms of the levers F F' at k.
To operate the churn, the weight A is wound up and thetpenduluni set 1 clock. The bar D has, first, one of its extreme ends elev beneath the Ielevated end ot` bar D, is depressed, and the dash connected. with it reaches its lowest position in the body of the churn; in the menu timethe'other dash has been elevated to its greatest height. This vibration of the har D gives a. reciprocatingv motion to the churn-dashes through the system of links E E and levers E F. 'lhe length of time employed in churning will depend' upon the position of Athe fulcro. i i''of the levers F F.
Having fully described the construction and operation of my impro following claim, which I desire to secure 7oy Letters Potent:
The dash bundles 'G G', levers F F', links E E', bar D, described and for the purpose set forth.

EDMUND ALvonn.
oily of" the churn cn. motion, the same as in un ordinary ated, as shown in` iig, 2. The inner end of thelever,
red pendulum churn power, I mnkc the und pendulum C, arranged and operatee es above of Marathon, Clermont county, and State of' Ohio, have invented drum bis journelled in the frame
