IMPROVED MEDICAL COMPOUND.
SPECIFICATION- TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known, that I, DANIEL D. BENEDICT, of Havanna, in the county of Schuyler, and State of New York, have originated, discovered, invented, and designed a new medicine, for the cure of the sickness amongst men and women known as ague and fever, of which the following is a full and exact description: reference being had to the accompanying specimens, the one being the manufactured article fit for use, and the other three being the separate articles out of which a similar article can be made, making part of this specification.
These pills are made of the following-named articles: quinine, fifteen grains; ipecacuanha, or'ipecac four grains; iodine, three grains; make the above into twelve pills; this is suflicient to cure one case of ague and fever. By the combination of these articles in pills, herein-before set forth, these pills are designed to be taken three of them in one day; and twelve pills thus taken are suflicient to cure one person of ague and fever, leaving him or her perfectly as sound and well as if he or she had not ever had that kind of sickness.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the three medicinal materials herein named, viz: quinine, ipecac., and iodine, in the proportions herein stated, into one medicine.
