IMPROVEMENT IN SHIRT-STUDS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 59,635, dated November 13, 1866; antedated October 27, 1866.

To alt whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, CHARLES PADMORE, of the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia, in the State of Permsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shirt-Studs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying' drawings, and to theletters of reference marked thereon, and in Which- Figure l is aperspective view ofthe stud; Fig. 2, a top View of the same, and Fig. 3 a bottom View of the same.

The nature of my invention consists in grouping and fastening,- together three, four, or more studs or buttons intended to fasten the neckband of the shirt, while the remaining buttons or studs are intended for fastening the collar in its proper place.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

I take three or more studs or buttons of any size or suitable metal or material, and fasten them together by means of a small bar or small metallic strip, and as shown in Fig. 1.

The studs are in number sufficient forthe purpose intended, and can also be fastened together by means of a small chain or of any compound system of small strips of any suitable metal or material.

NOW, what I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States of America, is-

The grouping together of th ree, four, or more studs or buttons, as liereinbefore mentioned,

and for the purpose described.
