Description

(No Model.)
' W. A. FRAZEE.
. COMBINATION STAND AND HANGING SHOW GARD- Patented May 26, I896.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
W'ILLIAM A. FRAZEE, OF IRVINGTON, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO HENRY WVILLSON, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
COMBINATION STAND AND HANGING SHOW-CARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No, 560,899, dated. May 26, 1896.
Application filed February 8, 1896. Serial No. 578,499. (No model) To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. FRAZEE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Irvington, in the county of Essex, in the State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Stand and Hanging Show-Oard, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved combination stand and hanging show-card, which serves for exhibiting the article advertised, can be suspended or used as a stand, is very conspicuous and attractive, can be folded very compactly for storage or transportation, can be erected for use very easily and rapidly, and which is simple in construction, durable, and not very expensive.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which like letters of reference indicate like parts in all the views, Figure 1 is a perspective View of my improved combination stand and hanging show-card. Figs. 2 and 3 are separate views of the two sections forming the same.
The show-card is formed of the two triangular cardboard sections A and B, of substantially the same size, each section having a rounded recess O at the top, in the inner edges. The outer angle is rounded o'lf at .the top of the section B and provided with a recess D, extending downward from the top and serving for receiving part of the top of the section A. An eyelet E is secured in the top part of the section B directly above the rounded recess O. A recess F is formed in the upper edge of the bottom cross-piece B at the center of the same for receiving part of the bottom cross-piece A of the section A. The section Aha-s a recess G, extending upward from the rounded recess 0 and serving to receive part of the top of the section B. An eyelet H for receiving a suspension-loop J is fastened in the extreme top point of the section A, which is not rounded off. Thebottom crosspiece A of the section A is provided in its bottom edge with a recess K for receiving part of the bottom cross-piece B of the section B. In storing or shipping, the sections A and B are placed flat one on top of the other. When the show-card is to be used, the section B is' inserted in the section A in such a manner that the sect-ions engage at the tops and at the centers of the bottom cross-pieces A" and B, the sections being at right angles to each other, as-shown in Fig. 1. The article L to be advertised or displayed is suspended by means of loops M or a cord from the eyelet E, so as to hang within the frame formed by the two sections. The frame may rest on its base, or it may be suspended by means of the loop J or a cord.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a show-card the combination of two triangular cardboard frames crossing each other at right angles, the points of the frames coming together and an article to be displayed, suspended within said frame thus formed from the top of the frame, substantially as herein shown and described.
2. In a show-card the combination of a triangular section A having the recesses G and K and eyelet H, of the section B having recesses O and F and eyelet E the sections being interlocked at right angles to each other, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in pres 8o ence of two witnesses, this 4th day of February, 1896.
WILLIAM A. FRAZEE.
