- UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE HENRY W. GRAY, OFUAMDEN, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO ANTHONY GUNTHER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVED METHOD OF UTILIZING WASTE WHITlNG.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 49,518, dated August 22, 1865.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY W. GRAY, of. Camden, in the county of Camden, in the State whiting that has been used in the process of making mineral water, by which a species of whiting is produced that is equal to and can be sold at one-half the price of whiting for the purposes of manufacturing paper or gilding. It mixes easier--that is, unites more readily with the water or sizing-and is more easily worked. The same is the case in the manufacture of putty. It can also be applied to the man-i ufacture of tooth-powder, cosmetics, and all other articles or compounds in which whiting is used. 1
What I claim as my discoverygand desire to secure by Letters lPatcnt, is-
The use and application of the refuse of whiting that has been used in the process of making mineral water, substantially as herein set forth. 7
