Description

April 16, 1968 G. 0| PASQUALE BIDET ATTACHMENTS Filed Oct. 12. 1965 INVENTOR GEORGIA DI PHSQUFILE BY m 9% United States Patent 3,377,629 BlDET ATTACHMENTS Georgia Di Pasquale, 205 liirchwood Road, New Milford, NJ. 07646 Filed Oct. 12, 1965, Ser. No. 495,936 3 Claims. (Cl. 4-e) ABSTRAKTT OF THE DTSCLUSURE Bidet basin equipped with a screw fitting for holding spray heads or other special discharge devices, with a medicament holder interposed in a supply line to the basin tor conditioning the spray or other flow to the screw fitting and a valve for controlling flows.
The invention herein disclosed relates to bidets of the type disclosed in Patent No. 3,134,985 of June 2, 1964 and comprising a basin adapted to be placed over a toilet bowl and having a flow line for connection with an adjacent faucet or other water supply source.
The objects of this invention have been to provide simple and practical attachments for such bidets for effecting desirable washing, cleansing, medicating and hydrotherapy results.
Other important objects of the invention are to attain these and other desirable results with quickly and easily applied and removed low cost constructions.
Other novel features and objects of the invention are set forth and will appear in the course of the following specification.
The drawing accompanying and forming part of the specification illustrates certain present practical embodiments of the invention, but structure may be modified and changed as regards the immediate illustration, all within the true intent and scope of the invention as hereinafter defined and claimed.
FIG. 1 is a broken part sectional view illustrating features of the invention as applied to a bidet of the type disclosed in the above mentioned patent.
FIG. 2. is a detail broken sectional view of a holder tor medication, which may be used as a part of the bidet.
FIG. 3 is a broken sectional detail showing how different attachments may be applied and used with the bidet.
The bidet structure here illustrated and covered by the patent identified, comprises a shell of sheet material, such as plastic or metal and shaped in the form of a pan or basin 20, having a dependent flange structure such as indicated at 22, adapted to fit over and about the rim of a toilet bowl.
This basin is shown equipped with a control valve 31, operative to direct a flow of water to a spray head attachment set in the wall of the basin or to discharge water from the basin into the toilet bowl.
The supply of water is provided in the illustration by a flexible hose 32, equipped with a coupling 34, for engagement over a convenient supply faucet or the like, this hose being connected at 38, with the control valve.
From the control valve, a short connection 30, is extended to the fitting 50, which carries the spray head 28, or other attachment.
This fitting, which is set in the front wall of the basin is shown as in the form of a screw socket and the companion attachments are correspondingly screw-threaded, so as to be readily engageable with and detachable from the base fitting.
Another type of attachment is shown in FIG. 3, in the form of a douche 51, carried by a flexible hose 52, termi- "ice nating in a screw coupling 53, engageable with the bas fitting.
For medication or other treatment purposes, there i:
provided a medicament holder 54, shown in FIG. 1 a! 5 interposed in the supply line 32.
This holder is shown in FIG. 2, in the form of a smali container having screened inlet and outlet nipples 55, 56 at opposite sides and a removable cover 57, for filling and cleaning purposes.
This type of holder enables use of medicating materials in solid, liquid or powder forms.
Other forms of medication or treatment holders may be employed and they may be located at different points in the circulatory system, for example, directly at the screw socket for the spray head.
The screw type of coupling shown enables the ready substitution of different forms of spray heads or medicament holders.
This interchangeability of attachments enables the bidet to be readily used for many different medical and cleansing treatments.
What is claimed is:
1. The combination with a bidet having a gasin to fit over the rim of a toilet bowl, of
a spray head supporting ter minal fitting supported in fixed relation in the wall of said basin, and
water supply connections extending to said terminal fitting, including a watertight refilable holder for medicaments and the like and a control valve in the bottom of the basin connected to direct. flow of medicated water to said spray head fitting or to drain said basin.
2. The combination with a bidet having a basin to fit over the rim of a toilet bowl, of
a spray head supporting terminal. fitting supported in the wall of said basin, and water supply connections extending to said terminal fitting, including a refillable watertight holder for mcricaments and the like, said water supply connections further including sections of a flexible hose and said holder having screened inlet and outlet nipples engaged with said sections of said flexible hose.
3. The combination with a bidet having a basin to fit over the rim of a toilet bowl, of
a spray head supporting terminal fitting fixedly supported in the wall of said basin, and
so water supply connections extending to said terminal fitting, including a watertight holder for medicaments and the like, said fitting being in the form of a screw socket and spray head water delivery attachments having companion screw threads interchangeably engageable with said screw socket.
