4 claims. (Ci. 211-89) This invention relates to bathroom fixtures and the like, and more particularly to multi-purpose fixtures which are capable of performing a variety of functions.

More specifically, the invention provides a bathroom fixture which in addition to functioning as a tumbler, soap and toothbrush holder, also holds a roll of toilet paper and provides suitable and adequate means for hangng up to dry stockings and other articles. The fixture is designed to occupy one of two positions when mounted on a bathroorn Wall, in one of which it will be adapted to hold tumblers, soap and toothbrushes, and in the other of which it will hold a roll of toilet paper, but in both of these positions, the xture will hold stockings and other articles to dry.

The inventon Will be understood from the following description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part thereof, and in which:

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a fixture embodying the invention, in a position to hold a roll of toilet paper, and illustrating its use in holding stockings and handkerchiefs to dry;

Fig. 2 is also a perspective view of the fixture in reversed position from that shown in Fig. 1, and adapted to hold tumblers, soap and toothbrushes;

Fig. 3 is a top plan View of the fixture illustrated in Fig. 2, on an enlarged scale;

Fig. 4 is a sectional view on line 4-4 of Fig. 3;

Fig. 5 is a partial sectional view on line 5--5 of Fig. 3, and

Fig. 6 is a sectional view on line 6-6 of Fig. 3.

Like characters of reference designate the same parts throughout the several views.

Referring to the drawings, the fixture shown has a base 10 of circular conguration with a peripheral flange 11 which extends at right angles to and beyond each face of the base 10. The upper and lower edges of the flange 11 are scalloped with alternating large and small scallops. A flange 12 having openings 13 provides means for mounting the fixture on a wall. A cylindrical extension 14 projects from one side of the base and a roll of toilet paper 15 is adapted to be placed on end on the base 10 with the extension 14 in the central opening of the paper 15'. The other side of the base has depressions. 16 and 17 each of which receives a tumbler 18 and a depresson 19 with 'idges 20 therein which is adapted to function as a soap dish or holder. Each of the depressions 16, 17 and 19 communicates with the opening 21 in the extension 14 to drain ofi any moisture accumulating in the depressions. Spaced slots 22 and 23 each receive the handle of a toothbrush 24.

Fig. 1 illustrates the manner in which the fixture is utilized to dry stockings, handkerchiefs, and the like. The upper ends of the hose 25 are simply hung over the scalloped edge of the flange 11, as shown, and an edge or corner of a handkerchief 26 is hung over the flange in the same manner. The scallops and the spaces or slots 11' between the scallops assist in retaining the articles on the flange while they are drying and until they are removed.

When the fixture is mounted on a wall or the like for use with the extension 14 projecting upwardly, the fixture functions as a holder for a roll of toilet paper, as shown in Fig. 1, and also provides means on which stockings and other articles may be hung up to dry. When the fixture is reversed and is mounted on a Wall or the like with the extension 14 projecting downwardly, the fixture functions as a holder for tumblers, soap and toothbrushes, as shown in Fig. 2, and also provides means on which stockings and other articles may be hung to dry.

The fixture can be made of plastic, porcelain, stainless metal, or any other suitable substance.

It will be understood that a preferred form of the invention has been illustrated and described, but that changes can be made in the form, location and relative arrangement of the several parts of the fixture without departing from the prnciples of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited excepting by the scope of the appended claims.

What is claimed is:

l. A fixture of the character described comprising a circular base, a flange on the periphery of the base which extends beyond each face of the base normally to said faces, the outer edges of the flange being scalloped to provide grpping means for articles of Clothing to be hung to dry, and means on the base for mounting the fixture on a Wall or the like with either face of the base uppermost.

2. A fixture of the character described comprising a circular base, a continuous flange on the periphery of the base which extends beyond each face of the base normally to said faces, the outer edges of the flange being scalloped to provide gripping means for articles of Clothing to be hung to dry, and means on the base for mounting the fix- 'ture on a wall or the like with either face of the base uppermost.

A fixture of the character described comprising a circular base, a continuous flange on the periphery of the base which extends beyond each face of the base normally to said faces, the outer edges of the flange being scalloped to provide gripping means for articles of clothing to be hung to dry, there being a plurality of sizes of scallops, and means 'on the base for mounting the fixture on a wall or the like with either face of the base uppermost.

4. A fixture of the character described comprising a circular base, a flange on the periphery of the base which extends beyond each face of the base normally to said faces, the outer edges of the flange being scalloped to provide gripping means for articles of Clothing to be hung to dry, part of the flange being extended beyond the scallops to provide means for mounting the fixture on a wall or the like with either face of the base uppermost.
