Y., assignor of 0ne-half to Louis C. Barail, New York N. Y. Application August 13, 1954, Serial No. 449,633 4 Claims. (Cl. 134-158) This invention relates to baths for false teeth.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a night bath for false teeth wherein the teeth will be immersed during the night in water in a closed entirely safe container.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a night bath for false teeth of the above type which includes a removable holder portion within which the false teeth are removably positioned, the holder portion being perforated and received within the container in a novel manner.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a night bath for false teeth bearing the above objects in mind which is of simple construction, inexpensive to manufacture, has a minimum number of parts, is easy to use and eflicient in operation.
For other objects and a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view thereof taken along the line 22 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the holder portion in an open position for receiving the false teeth and shown alone;
Fig. 4 is a fragmentary perspective view of the container element shown alone, a portion thereof being broken away; and
Fig. 5 is a fragmentary side elevational view of the holder portion in a closed position.
Referring now more in detail to the drawing, represents a cylindrical container open at the top and having a bottom wall 11, substantially as illustrated. A bearing member 12 is fixedly mounted on a central upper surface of the bottom wall 11 by means of the flanges 13 while the upper portion of the container 10 on the outside thereof is provided with a plurality of radially spaced pins 14, both for a purpose which will hereinafter become clear.
A vertical plate 15 is integrally formed at right angles thereto along its lower edge with a bottom plate 16, the corners of the bottom plate 16 being integrally formed with the upwardly extending lugs 17 which mount the longitudinal shafts 18 (Figs. 3 and 5). A pair of plates 19 similar in size and shape to the vertical plate 15 are each integrally formed with the peripheral side walls 20 and are pivotally mounted on the shafts or rods 18 intermediate lug 17. The plates 15, 16, 19 and the sides 20 thereof are perforated, substantially as illustrated.
A shaft 21 (Fig. 2) is secured to the undersurface of the bottom plate 16 and is integrally formed with an extension 22 of less diameter than the body portion 21 which is received within the bearing member 12, substantially as illustrated.
A shaft 23 is secured to the upper edge of the vertical plate 15 in alignment with shaft 21, the upper portion of the shaft 23 having secured thereto a closure member 24 including a side wall 25 having'bayonet slots 26 which cooperate with the pins 14 whereby to secure the closure onto the container, the rotation of the closure 24 being, of course, permitted by the bearing member 12.
As shown in Fig. 2, the side walls 20 of the rotating plates 19 are resiliently received against the lower end 2,721,567 C6 Patented Oct. 25, 1955 of the shaft 23 whereby to retain them in the closed position with the false teeth 27 therewithin.
A knob 28 is screw threaded onto the externally threaded extension 29 of the shaft 23 to facilitate the removal of the holder portion from the container when the pins 14 have been rotated to the open portions of the slots 26.
Thus, the teeth may be placed into the holder portion (Fig. 3) to rest on the bottom plate 16 whereupon the end plates 19 will be rotated upwardly into the closed position to securely retain the teeth therewithin. The holder portion will then be lowered into the container 10 with the extension 22 received within bearing 12, whereupon the closure 24 may be locked by means of the bayonet slots 26 and pins 14, the container being provided with the bath 30 within which the teeth 27 will be immersed during the night. To remove the teeth, it is only necessary to reverse the above operations.
While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be Within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.
Having thus set forth and disclosed the nature of my invention, what is claimed is:
1. An article of the class described comprising a bath container having a bottom wall and open at the top, a closure for said container, a releasable means for securing said closure to said container, and holder means suspended from said closure, said holder means being perforated, said bath container being filled with bath liquid above said holding means, said holder means comprising a substantially vertical perforated plate, a substantially horizontal perforated plate secured to the lower edge of said vertical plate and extending laterally on each side thereof, a pair of end plates similar in shape and contour to said vertical plate pivotally mounted at opposite edges of said bottom plate, each of said outer plates having peripheral side walls extending inwardly therefrom and adapted to be snapped together against said vertical plate whereby to house a set of false teeth on each side of said vertical plate, said outer plates and side walls thereof being perforated, a vertical shaft secured to the upper edge of said vertical plate and adapted to receive said side walls resiliently therebelow, said vertical shaft being secured to said closure, a bearing member secured to the bottom wall of said container below said vertical shaft, and a second vertical shaft secured to the lower edge of said vertical plate and bottom plate and rotatably received within said bearing member.
2. An article according to claim 1, including a knob secured to the upper surface of said closure to facilitate removal of said holding means and closure from said container.
3. An article according to claim 2, said releasable means for securing said closure to said container comprising a peripheral side wall in said closure surrounding the upper portion of said container, a plurality of radially spaced pins carried by the upper portion of said container, said side wall having a plurality of radially spaced bayonet slots adapted to receive said pins therewithin.
4. An article according to claim 3, said container being substantially cylindrical, said vertical and outer plates and side walls thereof being substantially trapezoidal in shape and following the contour of the false teeth supported on opposite sides of said vertical plate on said bottom plate.
