In order to close the air passage, one only needs to again exert a pulling force on the chain l6, causing the element H to rockanti-clock- Wise (compare. lower dottedlposition of the element l I) said elementthereby engaging the arm 5" of the bell crank lever and transmitting the operating force thereto, causing the shutter to be moved towards the right, against the action of the torsion spring 1, that'is causing the shutter to open the air passage.
During this movement of the bell crank lever about its axis, the. rounded nose HJ- forces the blade spring back, whereupon such spring again snaps intothe recess. .9 for blocking the shutter in closed position. 7
- What I claim is: V V i 1. A ventilator comprising a frame element having an opening therein, a shutter 'movable pawl-lifting member between positions where the point of exertion of the actuating force is situated on either side of the pivotal axis of said mounting, and, a spring urging said pawlliiting member to one :of said positions in contact with said pawl;
2. A ventilator as in claim 1 wherein theshutter operating member is in the vform of a bell- -orank lever pivoted on the. frame pelementand having one end operativelyconnected; to the movable shutter, the, pawl-lifting member being U-shaped and pivoted adjacent the ther ,end of the bell crank lever. 1
3. A ventilator as in claim 2 wherein-the U- shapedpawl-liiting element is pivoted to swing from a position inward of its point of pivotal attachment to the bell-crank lever, and abuttin therethrough to a position outward of said: attachment point and embracing at least part .of the adjacent end of said lever.
