The nature of the invention is such as to render it susceptible to various changes and modifications, and, therefore, I am not to be limited to said disclosure; but am entitled to all such changes therefrom as fall within the scope of my claims.

Figures 1, 2 and 3 are perspective views respectively of the rotating cylinder, outside cover and supporting frame with pivot post which form my decorative attachment.

Figure 4 is a perspective view of a modified form of supporting frame with integral pivot post.

Figure 5 is a longitudinal sectional view of my attachment attached to a wire clip forming part of a lamp shade support, and which is shown attached to an electric light bulb, the latter being represented by broken lines.

Figure 6 is a perspective view of a connector which is used to connect my attachment to a clip-on shade.

As illustrated, my decorative attachment has a supporting frame [2, ordinarily made of metal wire bent to the shape shown, which includes a bottom rim M, a top rim IS, the latter two ordinarily being circular, and a rectangular portion 3, extending between and attached to said bottom and top rims.

A pivot post is attached to and supported by said frame l2, and is pointed as at 22 at the top. Its lower portion is exteriorly screw-threaded as at 24 above which are burrs 26 which limit the screw-threaded movement of said pivot post beyond said screw threads 24.

A reducer 50 at its outside threaded portion 52 is screw-threadedly connected to said coupling interior threads 36. Said reducer 50 has interior threads 54 and said shank M extends into said reducer with its said threads 46 connecting said reducer interior threads 54. In making this connection said shank 44 extends through the usual center ring 56 formed in the wire clip 58 which fits on a bulb B and which is part of a frame 59 of a lamp shade of the usual clip-on type.

This connector 40 is not used in the final type of lamp with shade since the top of the frame, usually pointed or ornamental, is screwed off and said reducer 50 is screwed onto it by means of said interior screw threads 54. Only the mechanism shown in said Figure 3 is used in that arrangement.

A rotatin cylinder 60, which may be made of paper and preferably has animal or comical figures on its outside surface, has a well known fan 52 at its upper interior portion. Said fan has blades 53 that fit into a plastic ring 65 that is pressed or cemented to the interior of said cylinder fill. At the center of said fan 62 is a socket bearing 61 which rests on said pivot post point 22 as shown in said Figure 5, whereby said cylinder 68 may freely rotate. The heat waves from an electric light bulb pass upwardly and impinge against said fan blades 63 to thereby cause said cylinder to rotate.

Mounted on said supporting frame I2 is an outside cover 69 that fits on said frame I2 and has windows 10 therein whereby the figures on said rotating cylinders are visible as the latter rotates.

What I claim is:

1. A decorative attachment for a lamp shade comprising a supporting frame, a pivot post, a decorative cylinder embodying a fan and a hearing member rotatively resting on said pivot post, a holder attached to said frame, said pivot post extending into said holder and being supported thereby, a coupling outside of and connected to said holder and extending below it, said coupling having an interiorly-screw-threaded opening therein at the lower portion thereof, a connector embodying a base and a shank, said shank being screw-threaded and adapted to screw-threadedly connect with said lower portion and a decorative cover spaced outwardly from said cylinder and havinga window therein and mounted on said supporting frame.

A decorative attachment for a lamp shade comprising a supporting frame, a pivot post, a decorative cylinder embodying a fan and a bearing member rotatively resting on said pivot post, a holder attached to said frame, said pivot post extending into said holder and being supported thereby, a coupling outside of and connected to said holder and extending below it, said coupling having a reducer portion connected to said coupling and having an interiorly-screw-threaded opening therein at the lower portion that is smaller than the opening in the coupling upper portion thereof, a connector embodying a base and a shank, said shank being screw-threaded and adapted to screw-threadedly connect with said reducer lower portion, and a decorative cover spaced outwardly from said cylinder and having a window therein and mounted on said supporting frame.

3. A decorative attachment for a lamp shade comprising a supporting frame, a pivot post the lower portion of which is exteriorly screwthreaded, a decorative cylinder embodying a fan and. a bearing member rotatively resting on said pivot post, a holder attached to said frame having an interiorly screw threaded portion with which said pivot post exterior screw-threaded portion connects, said holder having an exteriorly screw-threaded portion, a coupling outside of and having an interiorly screw-threaded portion at its upper portion with which said holder exteriorly screw-threaded portion connects, said coupling having an interiorly screw-threaded portion at its lower portion and a decorative cover spaced outwardly from said cylinder and having a window therein and mounted on said supporting frame.
