This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in jewelry and more particularly to jewelry of the combination type wherein clusters can be formed to suit various occasions and easily changed from time to time.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide an article of jewelry wherein numerous elements are available and adapted to be interchanged to form different jewelry masses 1O attractive for difierent occasions.
Another important object of the invention is to provide an article of jewelry of the character stated wherein the various parts will be firmly held together when assembled without likelihood 15 of separation and loss.
These and various other important objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.
In the drawing- Figure 1 is a perspective view of one jewelry element.
Figure 2 is a perspective View of a bracelet form with the detachable elements applied.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of one wing of the bracelet shown in Figure 2 with the corresponding jewelry element removed.
Figure 4 is a vertical sectional view taken substantially on the line 44 of Figure 2.
Numeral l5 denotes the jewelry piece of any ornate design, the same being substantially triangular shape as shown in Figure l. The back side of this element l5 carries the elongated tubular socket structure [6.
The bracelet type shown in Figures 2 and 3 consists of the pair of arcuate-shaped ring members 21-21 each provided with a longitudinally extending slot 28 therein extending for a short distance inwardly of the hingedly connected ends Extending also from the hingedly connected ends of the sections 21 are the spring tongue members 30 each provided with the inwardly disposed boss 3| at its free end. These spring members 30 extending longitudinally in the said slots 28.
These spring fingers 30 can be disposed through the tubular socket l6 of jewelry element l5 or elements of various other forms so as to make up a bracelet of the desired ornate form.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention what is claimed as new is:
An article of jewelry comprising a carrier, said carrier being of spring material and being struck to provide a slot and an elongated finger extending longitudinally in the slot and in spaced relation to the edges thereof, a jewelry piece having an elongated socket member on one side thereof through which the finger is disposable, the walls of the socket lying between the finger and the edges of the socket so that the back surface of the jewelry piece is held in contact with the front surface of the carrier by the tension of said finger, said finger having a backwardly disposed head portion, said head portion being adapted to overlap the adjacent end of the socket member to prevent displacement of the jewelry piece from the finger.
