Abstract

A container insulating and cooling assembly includes an inner sleeve having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge and a bottom edge. The top and bottom edges each define openings extending into the inner sleeve. A dividing wall is attached to the inner sleeve and fluidly separates an upper portion from a lower portion of the inner sleeve. A cap is removably attached to the inner sleeve to close the bottom edge and define an ice receiving chamber between the dividing wall and a bottom wall of the cap. An outer covering is attached to the outer surface of the sleeve and covers the outer surface. The outer covering comprises a resiliently compressible material adhesively coupled to the outer surface. The resiliently compressible material is a thermally insulating material. The inner sleeve receives a beverage container such that the beverage container abuts the dividing wall.

  • The disclosure and prior art relates to thermally insulating container sheath devices and more particularly pertains to a new thermally insulating container sheath device for receiving and retaining a container at a desired temperature.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an inner sleeve having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge and a bottom edge. The top and bottom edges each define openings extending into the inner sleeve. A dividing wall is attached to the inner sleeve and fluidly separates an upper portion from a lower portion of the inner sleeve. A cap is removably attached to the inner sleeve to close the bottom edge and define an ice receiving chamber between the dividing wall and a bottom wall of the cap. An outer covering is attached to the outer surface of the sleeve and covers the outer surface. The outer covering comprises a resiliently compressible material adhesively coupled to the outer surface. The resiliently compressible material is a thermally insulating material. The inner sleeve receives a beverage container such that the beverage container abuts the dividing wall.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new thermally insulating container sheath device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the container insulating and cooling assembly 10 generally comprises an inner sleeve 12 having an inner surface 14, an outer surface 16, a top edge 18 and a bottom edge 20. The top 18 and bottom 20 edges each define openings extending into the inner sleeve 12. The inner sleeve will 12 typically have a tubular shape through a frusto-conical or other shapes may be utilized. The inner sleeve 12 may be comprised of a thin, plastic material through other materials such as metal may be utilized. A dividing wall 22 is attached to the inner sleeve 12 and fluidly separates an upper portion 24 from a lower portion 26 of the inner sleeve 12 such that liquids, and in particular water, cannot flow between the upper 24 and lower 26 portions. The dividing wall 22 is positioned nearer to the bottom edge 20 than the top edge 18. The inner sleeve 12 may comprise a first section 28 and a second section 30 with the dividing wall 22 positioned therebetween.
  • A cap 32 is removably attached to the inner sleeve 12 to close the bottom edge 20 and to thereby define an ice receiving chamber 34 between the dividing wall 22 and a bottom wall 36 of the cap 32. The user of the assembly 10 may position ice within the ice receiving chamber 34 to help cool the upper 24 and lower 26 portions of the inner sleeve 12. The cap 32 may be threadably coupled to the inner sleeve 12.
  • An outer covering 38 is attached to the outer surface 16 of the inner sleeve 12 and covers the outer surface 16. The outer covering 38 comprises a resiliently compressible material that may be adhesively coupled to the outer surface 28 of the inner sleeve 12 with a conventional adhesive 42. The resiliently compressible material is a thermally insulating material and may comprise a foamed elastomer or plastic. The outer covering 38 has a plurality of annular depressions 40 therein extending around the outer covering 38 that define finger grips. The inner sleeve 12 and outer covering 38 may have any number of size configurations based upon the type of container 70 that will be used with the assembly 10. As can be seen in FIG. 5, the assembly 10 may come with variously sized inner sleeves and combined outer coverings. Further, handles 44 of differing configurations may be attached to the inner sleeve 12 and also covered with the outer covering 38. Additionally, FIG. 4 shows an ice chamber 34 having a pair of cap sections 46 to increase the size thereof.
  • A bottom cover 48 is attached to and covers an exterior surface of the cap 32. The bottom cover 48 comprises a resiliently compressible which is also a thermally insulating material and adhesively coupled to the cap 32. The bottom cover 48 may be a same material as being used as the outer covering 38.
  • In use, the inner sleeve 12 is configured to receive a beverage container 40 such that the beverage container 40 abuts the dividing wall 32 and so that the beverage container 40 extends outwardly of the inner sleeve 12 for access. The outer covering 38 thermally insulates the beverage container 70 while the ice receiving chamber 34 may be used for holding ice and thereby cooling the inner sleeve 12 and the container 70 therein.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims (7)

I claim:
1. A beverage container insulating and cooling assembly, said assembly comprising:
an inner sleeve having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge and a bottom edge, said top and bottom edges each defining openings extending into said inner sleeve;
a dividing wall being attached to said inner sleeve and fluidly separating an upper portion from a lower portion of said inner sleeve;
a cap being removably attached to said inner sleeve to close said bottom edge and define an ice receiving chamber between said dividing wall and a bottom wall of said cap;
an outer covering being attached to said outer surface of said inner sleeve and covering said outer surface, said outer covering comprising a resiliently compressible material being adhesively coupled to said outer surface, said resiliently compressible material being a thermally insulating material; and
wherein said inner sleeve is configured to receive a beverage container such that the beverage container abuts said dividing wall.
2. The beverage container insulating and cooling assembly according to claim 1, wherein said inner sleeve has a tubular shape.
3. The beverage container insulating and cooling assembly according to claim 1, wherein said dividing wall is positioned nearer to said bottom edge than said top edge.
4. The beverage container insulating and cooling assembly according to claim 2, wherein said cap is threadably coupled to said inner sleeve.
5. The beverage container insulating and cooling assembly according to claim 1, wherein said outer covering has a plurality of annular depressions therein extending around said outer covering and defining finger grips.
6. The beverage container insulating and cooling assembly according to claim 1, further including a bottom cover being attached to and covering an exterior surface of said cap, said bottom cover comprising a resiliently compressible and thermally insulating material.
7. A beverage container insulating and cooling assembly, said assembly comprising:
an inner sleeve having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge and a bottom edge, said top and bottom edges each defining openings extending into said inner sleeve, said inner sleeve having a tubular shape;
a dividing wall being attached to said inner sleeve and fluidly separating an upper portion from a lower portion of said inner sleeve, said dividing wall being positioned nearer to said bottom edge than said top edge;
a cap being removably attached to said inner sleeve to close said bottom edge and define an ice receiving chamber between said dividing wall and a bottom wall of said cap, said cap being threadably coupled to said inner sleeve;
an outer covering being attached to said outer surface of said inner sleeve and covering said outer surface, said outer covering comprising a resiliently compressible material being adhesively coupled to said outer surface, said resiliently compressible material being a thermally insulating material, said outer covering having a plurality of annular depressions therein extending around said outer covering and defining finger grips;

wherein said inner sleeve is configured to receive a beverage container such that the beverage container abuts said dividing wall.
