Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention is related to an inlay-type sink including a sink main body. A first horizontal flange section is annularly disposed along a periphery of the sink main body. In addition, a vertical skirt section is formed on an edge of the first horizontal flange section. The vertical skirt section is able to stop water from leaking outside.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
-
FIG. 8 shows a conventional kitchen cabinet. The kitchen cabinet includes atable board 51 formed with ahole 511. Asink 52 is bridged between the edges of thehole 511 with aflange section 521 of thesink 52 rested on the edges.Silicone 523 is filled in the gaps between theflange section 521 and thetable board 51. Thesilicone 523 not only deteriorates the appearance of the kitchen cabinet, but also results in hygienic problem.FIG. 9 shows another type of conventional kitchen cabinet including atable board 51 and asink 52. Thetable board 51 is formed with ahole 511 and thesink 52 has aflange section 521 horizontally protruding from top end of thesink 52. Theflange section 521 attaches under the edges of thehole 511 of thetable board 51. Thesink wall 522 of thesink 52 is flush with the edges of thehole 511.Silicone 524 is filled in the gaps between thesink wall 522 and the edges of thehole 511. Thesilicone 524 not only deteriorates the appearance of the kitchen cabinet, but also results in hygienic problem. Moreover, water is apt to leak through the gaps.FIG. 10 shows still another type of conventional kitchen cabinet including atable board 51 and asink 52. Thetable board 51 is formed with ahole 511 and thesink 52 has aflange section 521 horizontally protruding from top end of thesink 52. Theflange section 521 attaches under the edges of thehole 511 of thetable board 51. Thesink 52 has a diameter larger than that of thehole 511. Therefore, thesink wall 522 of thesink 52 is spaced from the edges of thehole 511 by a certain distance. When washing something in thesink 52, the water is apt to leak through the gaps between theflange section 521 of thesink 52 and thetable board 51 to contaminate the environment and cause hygienic problem. - It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide an inlay-type sink including: a table board having a hole and an annular insertion groove formed under the table board along a periphery of the hole; a sink including a sink main body, a first horizontal flange section being annularly disposed along a periphery of the sink main body, a vertical skirt section being formed on an edge of the first horizontal flange section, the first horizontal flange section attaching to lower side of the table board around the hole, the vertical skirt section being correspondingly inserted in the insertion groove of the table board; and retainer member locked under a bottom of the table board by means of screws, whereby the retainer member and the table board together tightly clamp the first horizontal flange section of the sink. When a user washes something in the sink, in case that the water flows downward from the upper face of the table board along the periphery of the hole and infiltrates into the gaps between the table board and the first horizontal flange section of the sink, the water will be stopped by the vertical skirt section from further horizontally advancing. Therefore, the water can be effectively prevented from leaking outside.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide the above inlay-type sink, which further has a second horizontal flange section horizontally protruding from free end of the vertical skirt section to the center of the sink. After the water infiltrates into the gaps between the table board and the first horizontal flange section of the sink, in case that the water further rises along the vertical skirt section, the water will be stopped by the second horizontal flange section from leaking outside.
- It is still a further object of the present invention to provide the above inlay-type sink in which due to gravity, the water infiltrating into the gaps between the first horizontal flange section and the table board cannot further rise to pass over the vertical skirt section. Therefore, the water is effectively prevented from leaking out of the sink so as to keep the environment clean and hygienic.
- The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the inlay-type sink of the present invention; -

FIG. 10 is a sectional view showing that a third type of conventional sink is mounted in a table board. - Please refer to
FIGS. 1 to 4 . The inlay-type sink of the present invention includes: atable board 11 having ahole 12 and anannular insertion groove 13 formed under thetable board 11 along a periphery of thehole 12; asink 20 including a sinkmain body 21, asinkhole 210 being formed on a bottom of the sinkmain body 21, a firsthorizontal flange section 22 being annularly disposed along a periphery of the sinkmain body 21, avertical skirt section 23 being formed on the edge of the firsthorizontal flange section 22, the firsthorizontal flange section 22 attaching to lower side of thetable board 11 around thehole 12, thevertical skirt section 23 being correspondingly inserted in theinsertion groove 13 formed under thetable board 11, the sinkmain body 21 being formed with aspill hole 24 positioned at a height lower than that of the firsthorizontal flange section 22, whereby when the level of the water contained in the sinkmain body 21 exceeds the firsthorizontal flange section 22, the water can flow out through thespill hole 24 to a gutter (not shown), (alternatively, the sinkmain body 21 being free from the spill hole 24); andretainer member 30 locked under a bottom of thetable board 11 by means ofscrews 31. Theretainer member 30 and thetable board 11 together tightly clamp the firsthorizontal flange section 22 of thesink 20. When a user washes something in thesink 20, in case that the water flows downward from the upper face of thetable board 11 along the periphery of thehole 12 and infiltrates into the gaps between the firsthorizontal flange section 22 of thesink 20 and thetable board 11 in the path indicated by the arrows ofFIG. 4 , the water will be stopped by thevertical skirt section 23 from further horizontally advancing. Therefore, the water can be effectively prevented from leaking outside. -
FIGS. 5 and 6 show a second embodiment of the inlay-type sink of the present invention, in which thesink 20′ has a secondhorizontal flange section 25 horizontally protruding from free end of thevertical skirt section 23 to the center of thesink 20′. Accordingly, after the water infiltrates into the gaps between the firsthorizontal flange section 22 of thesink 20′ and thetable board 11 in the path indicated by the arrows ofFIG. 6 , in case that the water further rises along thevertical skirt section 23, the water will be stopped by the secondhorizontal flange section 25 from leaking outside. - As shown in
FIGS. 3 , 4, 5 and 6, in the inlay-type sink of the present invention, thesink 20 can be made of metal board material. Alternatively, as shown inFIG. 7 , thesink 20″ can be made of ceramic material or any other suitable material. The material of the sink is not limited. - In the inlay-type sink of the present invention, an adhesive 131 such as silicone can be filled in the
insertion groove 13 of thetable board 11, in which thevertical skirt section 23 of thesink 20 is inserted. Also, theadhesive 131 can be filled in theinsertion groove 13 of thetable board 11, in which thevertical skirt section 23 of thesink 20′, 20″ and the secondhorizontal flange section 25 of thesink 20′ are inserted. This can more effectively prevent the water from leaking out of thetable board 11 so as to keep the environment clean and hygienic. - In the inlay-type sink of the present invention, the
table board 11 means a table board body of a cabinet, a washing basin or the like. The application range of thetable board 11 is not limited. - As shown in
FIGS. 3 and 4 ,multiple compression screws 32 are screwed through theretainer member 30. The front ends of thecompression screws 32 abut against lower side of the firsthorizontal flange section 22 of thesink 20 to tightly press the firsthorizontal flange section 22 against the bottom of thetable board 11. - In the inlay-type sink of the present invention, an adhesive such as silicone is filled in the gaps between the first
horizontal flange section 22 of the 20, 20′, 20″ and the lower side of thesink table board 11 so as to prevent the water from infiltrating into the gaps. - The above embodiments are only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiments can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
