Application February 15, 1936, Serial No. 64,017 4 Claims. (01.248-1'02) My invention relates to bottle holders, and more particularly to holders for nursing bottles, whereby the latter may be suspended in a crib or carriage.

An object of my invention is to provide a simple holder of the character mentioned.

Another object is to provide a bottle holder that may be made from a single piece or sheet of rubber.

The invention also comprises novel details of construction and novel combinations and arrangements of parts, which will more fully appear in the course of the following description.

In the drawing, like reference characters designate similar parts in the several views.

Figure 1 is a perspective of an embodiment of my invention, showing a bottle gripped therein.

Figure 2 is a face view of a modied construction. Figure 3 is a longitudinal section taken on the line 3 3 of Figure 2. I Figure 4 is a reduced plan of a sheet used to form another modification.

Figure 5 is a longitudinal section of a holder formed of the sheet shown in Figure 4.

Referring more in detail to the drawing, the reference character 5 generally designates the body of one form of my invention. The body 5 comprises arms 6 provided with eyes 'I adjacent the ends of the arms. The eyes I extend from side to side of the arms and receive metallic rings 8 therein.

The body portion between the arms consists of two webs 9 and I 0 which together form a band I I with which to resiliently grip a nursing bottle By means of the elasticity of the band II, nursing bottles of different sizes and shapes are eifectively held by my holder. In the arrangement shown in the drawing, the webs 9 and I0 are together approximately as thick as the arms 6, and the arms 6 and Webs 9 and I0 may be integral, as shown.

A flap I3 is provided on the web I0 for aiding the insertion of a bottle in the band I I and to assist in the removal of the bottle therefrom.

The several forms of my holder are suspended from a crib or buggy (not shown) by means of cords or tapes I4 passed through the rings 8. A

snap I5 is shown as connecting with one of the loops 8, whereby my holder may be moved aside without untying the cords or tapes from the crib or buggy. While a swivel I6 has also been shown, it is to be understood that I do not wish to be limited to the use of same.

The form shown in Figures 2 and 3 consists of a strip of rubber 3 I, which carries the ap I3, and a strip 32 of lesser length. Ends 33 of the strip 3| are looped through the rings 8 and abut against ends 34 of the strip 32. Ferrules 35 surround the 5 ends of the strip 32 and the looped ends of the strip 3l. This assembly is vulcanized to provide a unit of the rubber parts of the holder.

The form shown in Figures 4 and 5 is made from a sheet I1, which comprises an elongated 10 body member I8 having end portions I9 and 20. Projecting laterally from one side of the member I8 is another body member 2l, which carries the flap I3. Projecting laterally from the other side of the member I8 are spaced tabs 30, each tab 15 consisting of portions 22 and 23. The sheet is slit at 24 along the division line 25 between the body members I8 and 2I. This slit 24, which is substantially as long as the space between the tabs 38, is to receive the bottle I2 when the holder 20 is in use.

In manufacturing, the sheets I1 are stamped out in the shape shown and described. The ends I 9 and 20 are looped through the rings 8 and the ends are then folded endwise upon the body 25 member I8, along the broken lines 24. The body member 2| is then folded laterally upon the body member I8, along the broken line 25. Thereafter, the tabs 30 are wrapped around the two body members. The broken lines 25 indicate the 30 lines of folding the tabs around one edge of the holder and the broken lines 2'I indicate the lines of folding the tabs around the opposite edge of the holder.

When so folded, the tab portions 22 and 23 to- 35 gether provide ferrules 28 around the ends of the body members, as shown in Figure 5. When thus folded, the assembly is vulcanized.

From the foregoing it is believed that the assembly and use of my nursing bottle holder are 40 clear without further explanation.

While I have illustrated and described what I now regard as the preferred embodiment of my invention, the construction is, of course, subject to modifications without departing from the spirit 45 of my invention. I, therefore, do not wish to restrict myself to the particular form of construction illustrated and described, but desire to avail myself of all modifications which may fall within the scope of the appended claims. 50

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A nursing bottle holder comprising superposed, resilient web members adapted at their mid-portions to grip a nursing bottle, end por- 55 tions of at least one of the Webs providing loops, and ferrule members varound the web members and the end portions, between said mid-portions and said loops, and supporting means for the holder passed through the loops.

2. A nursing bottle holder comprising superposed, resilient web members adapted at their mid-portions to grip a nursing bottle, end portions of at least one of the Webs providing loops, ferrules surrounding the web members at .either side ofsaid mid-portions and surrounding vthe end portions, the ferrules being spaced inward from the ends of the web members, to provide loops projecting outward from the ferrules, for supporting-members for the holder.

3. A nursing bottle holder comprising a single Y sheet of resilient material comprising a slit body member, end portions and'lateral tabs, .the `end portions being folded upon the body, .therbody being folded upon itself, and the tabs being wrapped around the body at eitherzend'f the'slit vberat one side of the slit having a iiap to aid in removing a nursing bottle from the holder, the end-portions being alined with the body mem- Y. ber at the other side of the slit, the end-portions being passed through the rings and folded upon thebody, the body being folded laterally along saidv slit, whereby one body member is superposed with relation to the other, and the tabs being wrapped around the body members and the ends of the .end-portions, and vulcanized in place,

whereby to hold the assembly in proper relation. 20
