Thus in the turning -of the cap I5 from the position in which the opening 23 in the cap I5 leaves uncovered the opening of the outlet passage I8 in the body member Il to a position in which the valve face 2i of the cap I5 closes the outlet passage I8,in the body member I4, the valve face 2I is made to slide upon the valve face I6 and is pressed tightly against it so that there is ensured a tight closure which will prevent leakage of grease, cream or liquid or any other contents of the container provided with the closure device.

Figs. 1, 4, 5 and show the opening 23 in the cap I5 chamfered or made to widen outwards so as to facilitate clean wiping or brushing, as for instance in the use of a tooth brushwith the container.

. Obviously the outlet openings in the body mem-l ber and the closure cap may be formed in any position which allow of the outlet opening or openings in the body member being opened and closed in movement of the spiral valve face of the cap upon the spiral valve face of the body member.

Any appropriate material lmay be used in the formation of the body members and closure caps of closure devices according to this invention in correspondence with the purposes for which the closure devices may be intended; the closure caps 35 may be made of any external form desirable and diiferent means may be employed in different cases for connecting the closure caps with the body members of the closure devices and making them turnable thereon. 4o
What I do claim as my invention. and desire to secure by Letters Patent isz` Y l. In a closure for a container, a body member furnished with a circular part which at one end face is formed with a spiral valve face of uniform 45 inclination along the spiral, said spiral extending in not more than one turn and forming a stop by the step at one end, said circular part being alsol furnished with an outlet formed through it to open at on'e end in the container 50 and at the other in the spiral valve face; and a closure cap turnably and axially movable within limits in engagement with said circular part, said cap being furnished with a spiral valve face a counterpart of that on said circular part and 53 of uniform inclination along the spiral, said inclination extending in not more than one turn and forming a stop by the step at one end and having on outlet in position to communicate with that in said circular part when one stop is against 00 `the other, whereby turning of the closure cap to take one stop away from the other will close the outlet in said circular part and tighten the one valveface against the other.

In a closure for a container, a body member having a circular part which at one end face I# formed with a spiral valve face of Auniform. inclination along the spiral and extending in not morev thanone turn and forming a stop by .the step at one end, said circular part being furnished 79 with an outlet formed through it to open at one end into the container and at the other end. on the spiral valve face; anda closure 'cap turnable and axially movable within limits in anneement with said circular part and having a spiral valve face a counterpart of that on said circular pmt and of uniform inclination along the spiral, said spiral extending in not more than one turn and forming a stop by the step at one end, said valve face having an outlet in position to communicate with that in said circular part when one stop is against the other, whereby turning of the closure cap to take one stop away from the other will close the outlet in said circular part and tighten the one valve face against the other.
3. In a closure for a container, a body member furnished with a circular part which at one end face is formed with a spiral valve face o1' uniform inclination along the spiral, said spiral extending in not more than one turn and forming a stop by the step at one end, said circular part being also furnished with an outlet formed through it to open at one end into the container and at the other end, on the spiral valve face. and a closure'cap turnable and axially movable within limits in engagement with said circular part, said cap being furnished with a piece of inserted material formed with a spiral valve face a counterpart of that on said circular part, said spiral being of uniform inclination along' the spiral and extending in not more than one turn and forming a stop by the step at one end,'said inserted material being formed with any outlet into said 10 closure cap; and other inserted material in position to communicate with that in said circular part when one stop is against the other, whereby turning of the closure cap to take one stop away from the other will close the outlet in said circu- 15 lar part and tighten the one valve face against the other.
