This invention relates to a necktie holder, the general object of the invention being to provide a band for fitting around a collar and having means thereon for attaching a necktie thereto so that the necktie can be easily and quickly put in place and removed, it is not necessary to tie and untie the necktie, so that the tie will remain in proper shape, and a saving of material in making the necktie results by the use of the device.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in Which:-

Figure 1 is a. perspective view of the device, showing the necktie attached thereto in dotted lines.

Figure 2 is a section on line 2-2 of Figure 1. In this drawing, the numeral I indicates a ring of any suitable material, such as celluloid or the like, and this ring is of split construction and has its ends overlapping, with one end having a slot 3 therein for receiving a pin or fastener 4 carried by the other end so that by placing this fastener 4 in the slot, the ends of the ring are detachably connected together.

A pair of loop forming members 5 is attached in spaced relation to the ring adjacent one end thereof, and these members are adapted to receive a portion of a necktie shown at A in Figure 1. The tie can be made up with a. portion thereof passingthrough the loops 5 or a band can be fastened to the knot part of the necktie, with the band passing through the loops. The device can be made of two sections hingedly connected together, if desired. It may also be provided with perforations, if desired.

This device, when attached to a tie, will enable the tie to be easily and quickly placed in position and removed and the band can be slipped around the collar without turning up the collar so that the collar retains its shape and with this device the tie can be formed of much less material than an ordinary tie with a band passing around the neck. The tie will also retain its shape, whereas an ordinary tie is soon pulled out of shape by the frequent tying and untying of the same.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

What is claimed is:

A device of the class described comprising a flexible split ring, means for detachably connecting the ends of the ring together, and a pair of spaced loops carried by the ring adjacent one end thereof, said loops being adapted to receive a portion of a necktie.
