3 Claims. (Cl. 24-245) This invention relates to a hose supporter, and it is an object of the invention to provide a device of this kind which will securely hold the hose in place and which is constructed in a .5 manner to permit its ready and convenient engagement with the hose. l

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this kind comprising in its construction hose engaging members assembled in a manner whereby said members may be easily and conveniently handled to secure the same to the hose or to release the members.

The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved hose supporter whereby certain important advantages are attained and the device rendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, as will be hereinafter more so fully set forth.

The novel features of my invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.

In order that my invention may be the better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawing, wherein:-

Figure l is a view in front elevation showing a hose supporter constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention, the associated portion of a hose being shown in fragment;

as herein disclosed with the hose unapplied but the members in relative locking position;

Figure 5 is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 5-5 of Figure 4.

As disclosed in the accompanying drawing, S denotes a strap of elastic or non-elastic material as may be preferred which depends from a corset or other article of feminine wear and which has its lower portion looped or returned as is well known. This strap S is directed through a rigid loop 1 comprised in one of the hose engaging members of the supporter. This loop is preferably formed of a single strand of wire and such o strand at the central part of its lower or outer bar is continued or extended to provide a second loop 2 substantially at right angles to the loop 1. The side members a of the loop 2 adjacent their junction with the inner bar b of the loop 1 are connected by a cross member 3 to which is suitably anchored an end portion of a chain 4 or other flexible member of desired length. l

The outer end portion of the loop 2 is provided with an angular bar 5 having a portion c disposed outwardly substantially at right angles to ai) the loop 2 and this portion c is provided with an enlargement 6. This bar 5 with its enlargement 6 is molded within a button 'i of rubber or of other suitable material provided with a rubber or kindred yielding surface. This button in front elevation is preferably substantially semi-circular in form.

The button 7 has coacting therewith a second loop member 8 of desired dimensions and which has one end portion of a Width slightly greater than the Width of the opposite end portion. This second loop member 8 is adapted to be engaged with the button 7 after the upper portion of a hose or stocking has been disposed over said button as particularly illustrated in Figure 1 of the 75 drawing. The diameter of the narrower portion of this loop member 8 is such to assure effective clamping of the hose to the button 7. f

The restricted end of the loop member 8 has anchored thereto the second extremity of the chain or flexible member 4 hereinbefore referred to. It is to be noted that this chain or member 4 is of a length to permit the loop member 8 to be manipulated with convenience and facility.

In practice it is also desired that the loop 2 85 cverlie a tab 9 of rubber or other suitable material so as to prevent said loop 2 coming in direct contact with the esh of the wearer. This tab 9 is preferably suitably engaged with the loop 1.

From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a hose supporter constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do no t wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise 4 arrangement and formation of the several parts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice except as hereinafter claimed.

I claim:-

l. A hose supporter comprising two members, one of said members being formed to provide a '195 transversely disposed loop to provide Ameans to connect said member to a strap, said member also having a second loop extending from the inner bar of the iirst loop, the free end portion of the second loop being continued by an angular bar, `110 a button secured to the free portion of said bar, the second member comprising a loop to engage around the button and to clamp hose thereto, and an elongated flexible member connected to both of the first named members.

2. A hose supporter comprising two members, one of said members being formed to provide a transversely disposed loop to provide means to connect said member to a strap, said member also having a second loop extending from the inner bar of the rst loop, the free end portion of the second loop being continued by an angular bar, a button secured to the free portion of said bar. the second member comprising a loop to engage around the button and to clamp hose thereto, an elongated exible member connected to both of the first named members, and a cross member connecting the inner extremities of the second loop, the flexible member being directly attached to said cross member.

A hose supporter comprising two members, one of said members being formed to provide a transversely disposed loop to provide means to connect said member to a strap, said member also having a second loop extending from the inner bar of the rst loop, the free end portion of the second loop being continued by an angular bar, a button secured to the free portion of said bar, the second member comprising a loop to engage around the button and to clamp hose thereto, and an elongated exible member connected to both of the rst named members, said second member having one end portion of a greater transverse diameter than the other.
