The wall. 12 may be provided. with pockets 1-1 for the reception of various articles such as naj ilcins, eating utensils and the like.

The table top of the present invention comprises a central. section 1.5 and two end sections 16 and '17 iforn'iing a continuation of the central section and hingedly connected thereto so that each end section may be :Folded over upon the central section to assume the position shown in full lines in liigure f2 and in dotted lines in Figure 4. When the sections are toldeihiui shown in Figure 2, the same constitute, in effect, an ordeuside wall of the suitcase and are held in position by means of latches 1.8 pivoted to the ends o'l the section 16 adjacent the meeting edge oi? the section 17, said latches engaging both the section 17 andthe end walls oi? the receptacle. To turther aid in securing the lable top in its folded position the inner edge of the section 16 is provided with a central liap 1.9 and two end flaps 20, the central flap having; a catch. 2i adapted to engage a lock carried by the top of the suitcase, while the flaps 20 are provided with studs 23 en gagroabiewith catchesQ i also carried bythe top oil the suitcase.

To support the table top in an extended position above the receptacle there are provided three links each having one end pivotally connected at. 26 to the top of the reei itacle, while the other end of each link is pivotally mounted at 27 to the underside of the central section 15. Adjacent each end ol? the latter section the same has pivotally connected to its ui'iderside one end of a main brace 28, the opposite end of which is provided with an opening' for receiving, a n'ojection 29 carried by a plate 30 mounted fill upon the top edge of the cover 11. To support said, sections 1.6 and 17 in this position latches 32 are provided which are pivoted to the underside of the section 15 adja- Hill first disengaged from the' braces 28 and the latter are then disconnected from the projections 29, both the braces 28 and 30 being then swung upwardly against the bottom of the section 15. The sections 16 and 17 are then folded over upon said section 15 and the entire table top is then swung about the pivotal points 26 until the sections 15, 16 and 17 have been recessed between the extensions 13 of the end walls of the receptacle, it being understood that said sections can be moved to a vertical position between said end walls by reason of the pivotal connections of the links 25 with the bottom of the section 15. The flaps 19 and 20 are then engaged with their associated catches and the latches 18 swung to locking position, whereupon the table top will be secured in its folded position.

What is claimed is:

1. A combined receptacle and table including a receptacle body having a recess formed in one side thereof, a table top including a plurality of sections foldable into position within said recess, pivotal connections be tween said body and said table top whereby the latter may be swung from its folded position to an extended position above said receptacle, and braces carried by one of the sections of said table top and engageable with the receptacle and with each other to support the table top in its extended position.

A1 combined receptacle and table includinga receptacle body having a recess formed in one side thereof, a table top including a plurality of sections foldable into position within said recess, pivotal connections between said. body and said table top whereby the latter may be swung from its folded position to an extended position above said. receptacle, projecting pins carried by said body, bracesv pivoted to one of" the sections of said table top and engageable with said n'ojecting pins when the top is in extended position, andv other braces carried by said section of the table top and engageahle with the first named braces.

3. A combined reeeptacl i and table including a. receptacle body having a recess formed in one le therml a table top including a plurality of sections toldable into position within said recess, links pivotally connecting one oi the sections of said table top with said body, braces pivoted to sa d section of the top and en gagcable with said body, other braces pivoted to said section and cngageable with the first named braces, securing flaps carried by one of the other sections of said table top and engagcable with said body to maintain the table top in folded position, and latches carried by one of the sections of the top and engageable with the other section and with said body when said sections are in ii'ilded positions.

4:- A combined receptacle and table including a receptacle body, a table top, pivotal connections between said body and said table top whereby the latter may be swung from an inoperative position to an extended position above said, receptacle, and braces carried by said table top and engageable with the receptacle and with each other to support the table top in its extended position. i
