A further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character mentioned which may be readily and quickly attached to a screed when it is desired to form a corner in the plastering of a wall adjacent the baseboard.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the above character which is formed .of a single sheet of material ar- 2.; ranged to frictionally engage and connect several screeds and to be held against acci dental displacement.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character ments tioned which is efficient in operation and which may be economically manufactured.

Referring in detail to said drawings, A designates generally the usual baseboard screed formed of a single sheet of material bent longitudinally to form a rib 1 of substantially V-shape in cross section having outwardly extending attaching webs 2 provided with openings 3 through which nails or the like are driven to attach the screeed to the laths of a room to be plastered.

In proceeding in accordancewiththe present invention, the reference character B indicates a miter for an outside corner and'C a miter for an inside corner, which corners may occur about door and window frames and'in instances where ceiling supporting piers or the like project into a room. I The outside corner miter B is formed with a single sheet of metal or other suitable material to provide a base portion 6 formed with an upwardly extending shoulder 7 and a rearwardly extending part8. Extending outwardly from thebase 6 and shoulder 7 and forming a continuation thereof is arpair of downwardly offset arms 9. Projecting outwardly from the rearwardly extending part 8 and formin a continuation thereof is a pair of upwar 1y offset fingers 10 disposed substantially at right angles to each other and having their inner edges spaced from the adjacent edges of the arms 9.
The inside corner miter C comprises a body portion. 11 formed with a shoulder or abutment12 and a rearwardly extending part 13. Extending outwardly from the'body 11 and forming a continuation thereof is a pair of upwardly offset fingers 1%. Extending outwardly from the part 13 and forming a continuation thereof is a pair of downwardly offset arms 15 disposed substantially at right angles to each other and having their inner edges spaced from the adjacent edges of the fingers 14.
In applying the miter B to the screed when it is desired to form. a corner which projects in o aro'om, one of the downwardly offset arms 9 is inserted within the rib 1 and with the adjacent finger 10 overlying and engaging the upper face of the screed adjacent the attaching web 2. The space between the arms 9 and-fingers 10 being such that the miter is frictionally retained in position upon the screed. The offset of the arms and fingers relative to the base and rearwardly extending portion thereof is such so that the base and rearwardly extending portion is disposed in substantially the same plane as the upper face and front edge of the rib of the screed. Thus, it will be seen that the base portion 6 overlies the upper edge of the base board to form a metal molding therefor in conjunction with the part 1 of the screed, while the shoulder 7 forms a continuation of the shoulder 4 of the screed to provide a guide for a plasterers level whereby the thickness of the plaster may be accurately gauged.
T he application and operation of the inside corner miter C is substantially the same as that employed in the use of the miter B.
This disclosure of Fig. 1 of the drawings is merely by way of illustration and'it is to be understood that eitier of the miters B and C maybe placed upon either of'the ends of the same screed.
What is claimed is a 1. A corner miter for usewith baseboard screeds having a hollow rib and an attaching portion comprising a body formed with a shoulder and a rearwardly extending part, a pair of arms extending outwardly from said body and shoulder and forming a continuation thereof. and a pair of fingers projecting outwardly from the 'rearwardly extending part and "having their inner edges disposed spaced from the adjacent edges of the arms, the arms being adapted to be inserted within the hollow rib and the fingers being adapted to overlie and engage the outer face of the screed.
2. A corner miter for use with baseboard screeds having a hollow rib, comprising a body formed with a shoulder and a rearwardly extending part,a pair of offset arms extending outwardly from the body and shoulder and forming a continuation thereof, and a pair of offset fingers projecting outwardly from the rearwardly extending part and having their inner edges disposed spaced from the adjacent edges of the arms, the arms being received within the hollow rib and the fingers overlying and engaging with the outer face or the rib. r
3. A corner miter for use with baseboard screeds having a hollow rib, comprising a body formed with an upwardly extending shoulder and a rearwardly extending part, a
pair of downwardly offset arms formed on r screeds having a hollow rib, comprising a body, and pairs of co-extensive right angularly related arms formed on said body, one of the arms of each pair being adapted to engage within the hollow rib, and the other of said arms being adapted to overlie and engage the outer face of the rib.

A corner miter for use with baseboard screeds having a hollow rib, comprising a body, and pairs of off-set co-extensive right angularly related arms formed on said body, one'of the arms of each pair being formed to engage within the hollow rib and the other of said arms being formed to overlie and en- J.
