This invention relates to an improved window fixture of the type constructed to accommodate the usual Vcurtainor blind, together with one or more curtain` rods for draperies, etc.

What I have endeavored to do, is to provide a structure of this class which is eli'icient vin performance, one which will fulfill the requirements of a device of this class, one

q 10 which is dependable in use, and a mechanical achievement, suchk as promotes economy, practicability, and one which is comparativen ly simple andinexpensive to the manufacturer as wellas the user.

Briefly, the invention is characterized by an arrangement of structural details especially suitable to a device of this class, in that they permit the device to be readily attached 'to or detached from the ordinary window frame, and yovercome the necessity of employing special fastenings or driving nails into the woodwork. f

Referring now to the drawings by numerals, it will'be seen that the windowv shade is i designated by the reference character 7 and the curtainrods by the reference numerals 8. v I have also placedthe numerals 9 andlO uponthe vertical and horizontal parts of the windowframe respectively. The invention lcomprises a duplicate attachingdevice, and a description of one will suffice for both. i Each device is somewhat inthe nature of a corner cap and comprises complemental plate sections 11 and 12 (see Figs. 5 and 6 respectively).

The upper plate 11 is provided with a flange 13 having a down-turned lip provided with teeth 14 adapted to `be embedded in the top edge of the horizontal piece 10 of the window frame. This plate is provided adjacent its bottom edge with a stamped keeper 15, having a tongue 16 to serve in a manner to be hereinafter described. In addition, this plate is equipped with rcurtain rod bracketsl'4 including pairs of suspension and retaining tongues 18.

The lower plate 12 is equipped with a stamped mounting 19 for a pivoted lever 20, provided with a finger-piece 21 and carrying a swingable bail or link 22. This bail is obviously intended to embrace the mounting 19 and to swing over the keeper as shown in Fig. 4, to fasten the plates together.

As shown in Fig. 4, the lever is constructed for cooperation with a spring 23 in the camlikemanner shown. As also shown here, the mounting 19 is of hollow construction, and is so made as to provide a socket for reception of the retension tongue 16. This plate is also provided at one end with a right angularly disposed hook 24, cooperable with a `stud 25 in the manner shown in Fig. 3.

In addition, it is provided with a right angular extension on the bottom edge, as shown at 26 and this is equipped with teeth 27 to become embedded in the window frame, as shown in Fig. 4. From this arrangement, it is obvious that this device comprises complemental plates disposed in edge to edge relation with toothed abutment engaging the window frame, a retaining hook, separable fasteners, for providing a quick detachable connection between the plates, as well as shade brackets 29 as shown in Fig. 1.

It is evident too,that when the plates are placed upon the corner portion of the window frame, and the finger grips 21 of the lever 20 is swung upwardly as indicated by the arrow in Fig. 3, this lifts the link or bail out of the keeper seat, permitting the yplates to be separated. The reverse action of the retaining lever, however, serves to wind the lates together, owing to the drawing action s of the link and lever'. When the two devices are in place on the window frame, as shown in Fig. l, they pro- 5 vide efficient means for simultaneously supporting curtain rods, shades, and brackets, and hangers. n

A careful consideration of the description in connection with the drawings, will permit a clear understanding of the invention to be had.
