vrlihis invention relates to a toy lorry which differs from the toys of knownptype in such 'a manner that the toy lorry is constructed as a lorry with tiltable box` said tiltable box l being periodically tilted forward and backward by the clockwork wluch drives ythe lorry. Every time the box' is being tilted the movement of the lorry7 is interrupted and the lorry continues to move only when l0 the box has been tilted back.
The invention will be* best understood from a4 consideration of the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part 1I of this specification, with the understanding that while on the drawings one. embodiment of the invention is disclosed. the 'invention is not' confined to any strict conformity' with the showing of the drawings. but may be l0 embodied in any manner which does not make a material departure from-the salient features of theinvention.
In the drawing z.- f Fig. 1 shows the motortoy in side eleva- 86 tion` the rear part of the side wall being broken off in order to make the gear visible. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the driving gear, the lorry box being shown in tilted position.

The toy lorry consists in the well known Il manner of a frame 1 withthe two front run. ning wheels 2 and the two rear driving,-

On the carriage frame 1 the -tiltable box 5 is tiltably mounted by means of an axle 4, the rear wall 6 of said box being 40 adapted to be laid down and connected by means of a' link 7 with the carriage frame 1 in such a manner that the rear wall opens automatically whenv the box isrbeing-tilted and closes automatically when the` box is 45 tilting back.

A toothed wheel -12 is ke ed on the axle of the pinion 11 and mes es with a pinion 14 keyed on the rear axle 13. To the driving gear wheel a cam Adisk 15 -(Figs.p4 and 5) is rigidly` connected which has a cam 16.' On the driving shaft 9 a sliding piece 18 (Figs. 6. and 7) is mounted with the aid of a longitudinal slit 17 so that it can b'edisplaced in vertical direction. The upper end 19 of this sliding piece 18 engages with the cam disk. 0n the bent end 19 Aof the sliding piece 18 an arm 20 is fixed which bears from below .against the tiltable box 5, the lower end of the sliding piece 18 being Ahingedly connected with a bow-shaped frame 21 which is pivotally mounted in the gear case with the aid of an axle 22 and carries at its other end the yrear axle 13.
The operation-of the 'device described is as follows When the driving gear runs olf, afterhaving. been wound up, the driving shaft 9` revdlves together 'with the driving gear wheel 10 and the'cam disk l5 rigidly connected with said gear wheel, and the cam 16 of said cam disk acts from below upon the upper bent end 19 of the slidable piece 18 and lifts the same.V `The arm 20 which is lifted at the same time acts from below upon the tiltable box 5 and tilts the same, the rear wall 6 of said box opening at the same tlme.
i When the sliding piece 18 is raised, not orly the arm 2O is raised and the-box 5 tilted` but the frame 21 is rotaie-d in clockwise direction, whereby the pinion 14 ofthe rear axle 13 is lowered and brought out of gear with the .toothed wheel 12. The driving of the rear wheels 3 of the vehicle is thus interrupted so that the vehicle stops. When the rotation -of the cam disk 15 continues the sliding piece 18 descends and also itsA armA 20, s'o that the tiltable box, owing to its weight, returns to the initial `100 position, e. g. is tilted back. The frame 21, whichl carries the rear axle 13, is at the same time pivoted in anticlockwise direcy tion and the pinion 14 of the rear axle 13 is raised -and brought again in gear with 10:5

I claim 1. A toy lorry comprising in combination a lorry frame, a. tiltable box on said lorry frame, means for perodically tilting said box forward and backward consisting of a clockwork, a drivin gear wheel driven from said clockwork, a s aft on which said driving gear wheel ismounted, a slidable piece I mounted on said shaft so that it does not rovus tate with the same but is movable in vertical direction, an upper bent edge of said sliding piece, a cam dlsk rigidly connected with said driving gear wheel and designed to intermittently act upon said bent edge of said sliding piece, and an arm projecting from said sliding piece and bearing from below against said tiltable box.

A toy lorry comprising in combination a lorry frame, a tiltable box on said lorry frame, a rear wall of said box hingedly fixed at its lower end on said box, means for periodically tilting said box forward and backward consisting of a clockwork, a driving gear wheel driven from said clockwork, a shaft on which said driving gear wheel is mounted, a slidable piece mounted on said shaft so that it does not rotate with the same but is movable in vertical direction, an upper bent edge of said sliding piece, a cam disk rigidly connected with said driving gear ,wheel .and designed to intermittently act under said frame, a tiltable box on said lorry frame, a rear wall of said box hingedly fixed at'its lower end on said box, means edge of said sliding piece, a cam disk rigidly connected, with said driving gear wheel and designed to intermittently act upon said bent edge of said sliding piece, an arm projecting from said sliding piece and bearing from below against said tiltable boxL so that said box is tilted downward at the rear end if said sliding piece is raised, a link hingedly connecting said rear wall ofI said box with said lorry frame so that said rear wall opens and closes when said box is tilted up and down, a bow-shaped frame hingedly connected with the lower end of said sliding piece, an axle in said gear case on which axle said sliding piece is pivotally mounted, a rear axle of said lorryframe mounted in the rear end of said bow-shaped frame, two driving wheels for the vehicle on said rear axle, a pinion on 'said rear axle, an intermediate axle journalled in said gear, a pinion on said intermediate axle and meshing with said driving vgear wheel, and a toothed wheel keyed on said intermediate axle and designed to mesh with said pinion on said. rear axle when said bow-shaped 'frame isin the normal position the connection between said driving clockwork and said rear wheel axle being interrupted when said bow shaped frame is oscillated in downward direction by said sliding element being raised to tilt the box so that the pinion on said rear axle is disengaged from said toothed wheel on the intermediate axle and the vehicle is stopped.
