.invention has reference to an proved construction of torni or .meldder casting @concrete 'pipe andthe-like, and the invention relates;.more particularly, to a' novel construction and combination of inner land outer forms madeofseparable sections,
the inner being provided. with ano'vel'mea'ns vkfor v`,cont racting-V i the saine "prepara-tory to withdrawing lthe same "t'roni' the finished casting. t f i i The inventionv has 4for its principalobject to vprovide a novelconstruction or' form., or mold comprising a hollow cylindrical outery form mounted on 1a suitable. base,^anda contractilole4 inner rform consisting of a plu rality of radially movable sections Vhaving means whereby the sameiinay be withdrawn fromA a inished casting," and Ywhereby the initiation of the' withdrawing movement will vsuccessively vcontract diametrically opposed sections toremove the Asaine from.. engagement with the yinternal surfacesof the lin*- rished casting. l y 'A Ai Other objects of this invention, not at this time more jparticularlyenumerated, will lbe clearly understood from the y following detailed description of the same.
l "l The invention is clearly illust ated the .accompanying drawings, in which:--v Y Figure l is a side elevation oimy im proved form or mold; i-gureQ isa part .side elevation with theouter -tormin'sec' tion; Figure 3 isa top end view, showing Ythe inner form expanded to. operative Vrelavtion Vto theouter form, said view being drawnvon an enlarged Scale; Figure 4 is a view'siinilar to Figure 3 but vshoiving the Vinner torni Contracted preparatory `to withdrawal-o .the same from the finished casting; Figure. 5 is a vertical longitudinal section taken on line 5-5 in'V Figure'; Fig

It desiiedthe'baseil may be provided l with a suitably .shaped center lt'iossorv core 6, if it is desi-red to produce a 'bell-mouthed end in connection with the pipe casting; but
if ,simplev straight pipe sectionsfare desired to be produced, said center boss' or Vcore 6 may be omitted from the base'` 1.
The yJnpper surface or' said base l isprovided with a lcountersunll sea-t 7 ,correspondy.ing in diametery to vthevoirtsid'e diameter of the vinn-er form, and thusV provi-ding an an- ,nularshould-er 8 against which said inner form; whenjexpanded, is engaged,v and'by which the sameis concentrically spaced in proper relation to thefoutery form..

Said modificationscomprise onevor Y more groups of'connections to actuate the first moving members or v(sections 9, each groupfconsisting of asleeve 23, which is ixedon said pullro'd12. Said sleeve 23 is is provided with oppositelyprojecting fulcrum lugs 24 with whichk are respectively *,:pifvoted normallyfhorizontal links Vor tog-` gles 25, the outer yends of the 4latter being' respectivelypivotally engaged Yby the cross# pins 18 with Vthe lugs loof the respectiveA first moving` members or sections 9. One or l more groups ofconnections aire provided to actuate the last moving members or sections 10, eachgroup consistin'gof a sleeve 26 longitudinally .slidable on said pull-rod 12. Said sleeve 26lis provided with oppositely projecting fulcrum lugs 27 with which are respectively pivoted normally horizontal links or toggles l28, the outer ends of Vwhich are -respectively pivotally engaged by the,
y cross-pins 21 with thelugs 19 of the respective last -moving members or sections 10. Fixed on said `pull rod 12, suitably spaced below said sleeve 26is a ' lift collar 2,9.
In operating saidmodified groups of con- I' nections to retract therniembers or sections 9 and 10 to thereby contract the inner form for removal .from the interior'of a completed casting22,an upward pull is exert# ed on the pull `ro'd 12 which moves upwardly therewith the sleeve 23 fixed thereon. The upward movement of the sleeve'23 by pulling upwardly lthe inner ends of the links or toggles 25exert's a laterally and inwardly drawing leffect upon the first moving vmembers or sections 9, to thus retract the same from circumferentially alined relation to the members ori sections. INhi'le the' first moving members or sections 9 are thus beingV actuated, the lastmoving members' orsec# tions 10 remain stationary, by reason of the fact that the pull rod- 12 isfree tovslide up,-v ,wardly through the sleeve 26 until the lift collar ,29-l isfbrought into engagementV with the lower end of'said sleeve 26. This modification comprises a combination ofthel linkV or toggle arrangement foractuatingthe irstmoving members or sections `9,'as
above describedand as indicated by correi sponding yreference characters vapplied to cam means for actuating the "last moving, members or sections 10, asalso abovedevsaid Figures 12 and4 13,. with 'the delayed v e scribed and as indicated by corresponding y' reference characters applied to said Figures 12 and .13.' Theoperation ofthisarrangef ment will be understood from the above dey scription withoutnecessity for repetition.'`
y From the foregoing description, it willbe Y apparent, that-my invention provides a very simple and easily manipulated' setlof forms for casting pipe from plastic materials.

I am aware-that somefcha'ng'esmay be made in the` general arrangements and combinations of the various devices and parts, aswell as in the details of the constituctionj vi051 Y ofthe same, without departing from't'he i' scope of my present inventionfas described y in the foregoing specification, `and as defined in the appended claims. Hence, I do Ynot iio limitV -my invention to the exact arrange-j ments and combinations of the 'devices and parts as set forth in the foregoing specification, nor do I confine myself to the exact l details ofthe construction ofrsaid vparts as Iv claim 'z-- 1.
