such as kindling wood and conveying. the
same to the desired place without dropping or depositingany portion thereof until it is so desired by the user.
Another object is to provide a device of this character having oppositely inclined ends, one of said inclined ends extending laterally of the receptacle to facilitate the brushing of dirt,'etc., into the? receptacle, and the opposite end cooperating with the sides to provide a funnel for properly discharging matter from the. container or bucket.
A still further oblect of the invention is to provide a device of this character wherein the kindling wood of lengths greater than that of the bucket or container, may be prop erly supported by the container and conveyed to the desired place. r
A still further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character includin g separable handles which do not interfere with the filling of the bucket. I
With these and further objects in view, the invention consists in the improved construction and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more particularly described, fully claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a top plane view of a combined .fuel and refuge containerconstructed in accordance with an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 2 is a side elevation. Figure 3 is a section t-aken'onthe line 33 of Figure 1, and r I V Figure 4 is a detail view of the handle; Referring to the drawings, 5 designates a bucket or container includingendsfi and 7 and sides 8. The end 6 is inclined upwardly to provide a relatively. permits dirt and like matter to be brushed ;15 adapted to be the hooks being so arranged that the handles tion of the opposite the user to grasp broad spout which r v V Specificati'onof LettersP'atentI i Pat n 1922 Amalia filed March 2, i921." serialiio. 449,662. I
into the container when the same is disposed in an inclined position. In this way, the device serves as a dust pan; .The end 7 is inclinecl upwardly similar to the end 6. The
side portions of said ends are extended upwardly to provide jaws 9 which cooperate with the sides 8 and the bottom of the con matter within the container may be readily discharged.
The upper-portions 10 of each ofthe sides 8 extend beyond theedges of the ends 6 and 7 while the ends of said sides are beveled towards the edges of the ends 6 and 7 By this novel arrangement the sides do not interfere with matter being deposited or discharged fromthe receptacle over the said ends and at the same time the portions 10 serve as extensions so that kindling wood of lengths greater than that of the container may be supported 6 and 7 and the portions 10 of the'sides ,8. To reinforce the sides the upper edges thereof are curled outwardly to provide beads 11, a pair of openings 12 being provided in each side member closely adjacent thebeads.
In connection with the container, a pair of by the edges. of the ends 7 tainer to form a spout or funnel whereby handles are used, each handle consisting of a length of material 13 having its end porannular relation to provide a hand grip, while the extremities ofsaid end portions are disposed inthe openings 12,
may be readily disengaged when desired. The bight portion of each handle is adapted to extend over and engage the bight porhandle so as to permit both hand) grips at the sametime in order When the container is being filled, the ban dles may be shifted outwardly thereof soas not to'interfere with articles or matter being placed in the container.
a From the foregoing it will be readilyseen formed into hooks V to convey the container.
that this invention vprovides a novel device 7 which is not only capable of receiving and. conveying fuel. of various k1nds, but may also. be used as'a container to receive dirt,
dust and like foreign matter. In additionto.
this the device'includes a novel construction-f of handle which firmly grips the container on both sides and may also be adjusted to of said spouts being substantially in alignpermit articles of various sizes to be placed" ment with the sides of the body member, the 10 Within the container. 1 7 7 sides of theremaining spout bein disposed What is claimed is: in angular relation to said sides 0 the body 5 A fuel and refuse container comprising a member. r V
