Be it known that I, MARCUS 'J. DAVIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis,

useful Support for the Cords of Electric Irons, of which-the following is a specification. s

This invention relates to a support for the cord of an electric iron:

An object of the invention is to provide a device capablemf easy attachment to an ironing board or other support for supporting the cord of an electric iron out of contact with the clothes and the ironing board, and

possessing the desired characteristics of resiliency and flexibility to permit the iron to be operated easily throug out the length of the board.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the character mentioned comprising a coiled spring member and an arm in connection therewith for engaging the cord of an electric iron, and a clamp in connection with the spring member adapted to engage an ironing board or support to hold the device in proper position.

In use the device may be applied to the side edge of an ironing board, as shown. The cord 16 of'the electric iron is engaged in the socket. The spring 1 and arm 2 have sufiicient strength to support the cord and hold it out of contact with the ironing board and the clothes thereon, and they are sufficiently flexible to permit the iron to be operated throughout the length of the ironing board.
