Description

UNITED STATES PATENT y FFICE.
GEORGE D; DUDLEY, OF LOWELL, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO EDWARD P. WOODS, DANIEL SHERWOOD, AND G. H. LATHAM, OF SAME PLAGE.
IMPROVEMENT IN WIRE BOTTLE-STANDS. A
Specification forming part ofLeIters Patent No. 145,284, dated December 9, 1873; application filed October 23, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE D. DUDLEY, of Lowell, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vire Stands or Holders, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to wire stands or holders for receiving and holding bottles or other such articles; and consists in a novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, which have for their object to produce a cheap, useful, and ornamental article.
Figure l is a plan or top view. Fig. 2 is a side elevation.
The apparatus consists of a wire wheel, A, with arms B connected with its rim, and with a central shaft,-C, which enters the wire step D of the stand. This shaf't rises above the wheel, and braces b extend from the upper part of the shaft tohthe rim of the wheel, to give it strength and keep it in position. To the rim of the wheel a series of receptacles is suspended by hook-rods d, each being made with receiving and supporting parts g and s. The central wire stand with the wire step, has curved braces E, the lower ends of which connect with a 'circular base, F, provided with legs H, and, if preferred, the legs may be dispensed with, or both these and the base could be discarded, and the braces made to serve as the legs of the stand.
Each of the finished parts, before being put together as a whole, is coated with tin, in the usual way, to give it the beautiful lustre and nish so desirable with wire goods.
I am aware that skillful artisans may modify my improved stand in various ways, by changA ing the form or shape of the parts thereof, without departing from the principles of my invention, and I consider any and all immaterial changes as within the scope of my invention.
I claiml. The revolving wire holder, made up of the wheel A, shaft O, and pendent receivers s g, constructed substantially in the manner described.
2. In combination with the revolving holder, the base-stand, made up of the sleeve D and legs E, substantially in the manner described.
l GEORGE D. DUDLEY. Witnesses:
ABEL WHITNEY, I. A. VHITNEY.
