y ln Fig. l Vot tbe drawingj l beve shown et 5 :i port oit the outer iece or e Wall of :i building, ond in said ligure l lieve shown :it 6 one of my improved building bricks or blocks composed of tlnee representations et the usuel bricks 6, 6b, end 6 combined in one'unit and molded or otherwise termed, tbe representations of tbe bricks being formed by boi/'eline' tbe edges olf the brick or block o es shown it 5d, ind by providing V-slieped grooves- @C on tbe outer ziceo' tbe briclr or block ln Fig. L belve eben/'n brick or blo-sli 7 composed ot live representations oi 'the usuel bricks 7, Y, 7C., 7d and 7@ combined in one unit end molded or otherwise formed the representations of tbe bricks beine' termed by beveling the edges of tlie brick or block es shown et 7i, end by providing V-sbeped grooves 7g en tbe outer tec/e oi tbe brick or block 7.
The beveled edges 6 end ff es Well es the groi'ives 6C one 7g also s /rve to represent tbe usuel mortar or plaster placed between the bricks oit the usuel Well. construction. lt Will be understood tliet these bricks or blocks G end T are placed one upon another and side by side in tlie usuel manner in the construction or tbe enter facing or e wall9 :and it Will be noted that tbe top end bottom end side faces of tbese briclrs ibut for e greater portion of their depth shown et 8 in Fig. 2 of the drewing, and in order to insure the anchoring oit seid bricks or blocks, l provide the peripliery thereof with grooves or recesses 9 AMlyricent to tbe inner t'nce olf tbe bricks or blocks 6 and i', es clearly shown in Fig. 2 of tbe drawing, end tbe top, bottom and side feces of tbe bricks or blocks 6 end 7 rearwardly i tbe `grooves or recesses 9 are sliggbtly reduced shown et l0, whereby in tbe construction or a well mortar, cement or tbe like may be placed in 'the grooves or re- 10 es sliovvn et l, :ind be anchored to tbe morter of tbe Well construction through tbe anchoring body l2 of morter which joins the mortar il inthe groovesl orl recesses`r 49 with the mortar 13 of the wall construction. In Fig. 2 of the drawing, I have also shown a number of ordinary bricksA 14 mounted inwardly of the bricks or blocks 6 and 7, but it will be understood that my improved brick or block construction may also be used in the construction of the entire wall, if desired, but if used inwardly of the outer face of a wall the grooves and beveled edges will be omitted.
t will be understood that I am not necessarily .limited to the number of representa# tions of building bricks in my separa-te bricks or blocks,.and these bricks or blocks may be dissected whenever necessary where an entire brick or block unit cannot'be employed as is often the case, and various changes in and modifications of the construction herein shown and described may be made, within the scope lof the appended claims, vwithout departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.
Having fully described my invention, what l claim knew and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is
l. A building. brick or block of the class described composedvof a plurality of representations of the usual building bricks fornlied in a single solidunit, one face of said brick or block being provided with grooves and beveled edges to form the representations of bricks on said face, the pe-v riphery of said brick or block being provided adjacent to the other face thereofwith a recess adapted to receive mortarand` the like, and the outside .dimensions of saidl brickor bloc-k rearwardly of said recess' being less than the corresponding dimensionsofthe remainder of the-brick or block to form when said'brickso'r blocks are placed one upon another and side by side'spaces therebetween inwardly of said recess;
2. A building brick or block of the class described composed of' a plurality of representations of the usual building bricks forme-d in a single and solid unit, the outside dimensions of said bricks or blocks adjacent to the inner-faces thereof being of less dimensions than the remainder of said blocks to form between said blocks when placed. one upon another andfside'by side spaces into which'a suitable cement is adapted? to be placed, and' said bricks or blocks being'provided. on the'periphery thereof and adjacent to the innen-faces thereoffwitli grooves into which thefcement is adaptedlto tpass.
8. A building brick or yblock of the class described composed of a pluralityf of repre'- sentations of the usual building-'bricks form'ed'ina single/solidunit, one' face of said bricksor blocks being. providedvwith grooves'and beveled edgesvto 'form the representations lof bricks' on said face, said bricks or blocksbein-gv-v adapted yto be placed one upon another and side bye-ide and to directly abut each other about the 4peripher .f thereof' anda'djafc'ent 'to thefront faces,y the outside din'iensions ofsaid vbricks or blocks adjacent tothe other or rear face thereof `b'eing less' thanl theiremaiiide'r of said bricks 'or blocks to form `-between*said bloc-ks, when placed togethenjspaces into 'whihl a? suitable cement is adapted tobe placed, and said ricksor blocks .being provided inthe 'pee ripli'ery thereof Land: adjacentto the 'rear faces thereof 'withfgroovesor 'recesses into whichthe cement is adapted to "pass:
In testimony that I claim the 'foregoing. as my invention I have signedmy name this lst day of April;1922.'`v
