To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES H. ANGUS, a citizen of the United States, residing at East Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Roll- Curtain Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.

The invention also includes novel means for locking the bracket arm at any point throughout the length of the plate, the said means comprising a locking plate pivotally secured to the bracket arm and carrying a blade at one end for engagement with serrations formed in the frontface of the edging plate, alined finger pieces carried by the bracket arm and locking the plate respectively and a spring inter osed between the finger pieces to normally old the engaging blade in contact with the serrated face of the ed in plate. from the adjacent face of the plate 11 to pro vide longitudinal grooves 15 along eachedge of the plate. This plate is adapted to be sccured to the face of the wlndow frame 60 through the medium of fastening devices 16, which are adapted to pass through the opening 17 formed in each end of the plate, the heads of these fastening devices being flush with the face of the plate. The plate 11 is provided with transversely disposed spaced grooves or serrations 18, which extend throughout the length of the plate for the purpose hereinafter apparent.

The bracket arms 12 include an engaging foot 19, which is disposed at an angle of substantially 90 with respect to the bracket and is adapted to enter the grooves 15 of the plate 11 for free sliding movement therein.

The bracket arm 12 is provided adjacent the foot 19 with oppositely extending slots 20, which are adapted to receive the flanges 14 so as to hold the bracket arm in engagement with the edging plate. The arm 12 is provided with an opening 21 for the reception of one trunnion of the curtain rod, the opening shown being of elongated formation, while it is understoodthat the bracket upon the opposite side of the window will have a circular opening as is customary in devices of this character.

Pivotally mounted upon a trunnion 22 carried by the bracket arm 12 are spaced cars 23. the latter being located upon each side of a locking element 24. This element 24 is-of 9 substantially the same shape and configuration as the bracket arm 12, the inner. end 0L the arm 24 however, being formed into an engaging blade 25 which is bent at an obtuse angle and provided with asharpened edge 26 for engagement with the teeth or serrations 18 formed upon the edging late 11. This plate 25 is adapted to normal y engage these teeth or serrations and to be disposed at an inclination with respect to the face of the plate. When in such engagement the bracket arm will be effectually locked against such movement with respect to the plate. Carried by the opposite end of the bracket arm 12 and the locking element 13 are finger pieces 27 and 28 respectively, the latter belng alined and having secured between them a spring 29 which normally urges the edge 26 ofthe plate 25 into engagement withthe serrated face of the edging plate 11. When it is desired to adjustthe bracket it is only necessary to move the finger pieces 27 and 28 tm ward one another to. release the blade 25 from engagement with the edging plate. This will permit of a free sliding movement of the bracket arm.

The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and'minor details of construction and the right is reserved to make such chan es. 7

Having described the lnvention, What is claimed 1s:

1. A curtain fixture embodying an attaching plate, a bracket removably secured to said plate and ca able of longitudinal move ment thereon, a ocking dog carried by the bracket, said dog including a pivoted engaging plate disposed at an inclination with respect to the attaching plate and a serrated face formed on the attaching plate and engageable with the inclined plate and the lock ing dog to hold the bracket against movement.

2. A curtain fixture embod ing an attaching plate, a laterally extendmg bracket removably secured thereto and guided upon said plate, a locking dog positioned substantially parallel to and spaced from said bracket, an angularly dis used extremity carried by one end of said 0g for engagement with serrations formed on the attaching plate, spaced ears located intermediate the ends of the dog for pivotal engagement with the bracket and a spring interposed between the opposite end of the dog and the bracket,

whereby a pivotal movement of the dog in a direction longitudinal of the attaching plate will release the bracket.
