IMPROVEMENT IN EGG-CARRIERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,431, dated May 27,1873; application filed March 12, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SETH E. SMITH, of North Adams, in the county of Hillsdale and in the State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Egg-Carrier r and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying'drawings and t0 the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of an egg-carrier, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view with the box broken open to show the interior of the eggcarrier; and Fig. 2 shows the pieces of which the pockets are formed.
A represents a box of any suitable dimensions and construction, in which are formed horizontal series of pockets for the eggs. Each series is formed of a suitable number of straight pieces,B B, and two folded pieces, 0 c, of paper or other similar suitable material. Each piece B is cut from both edges inward with slots 11 b, which alternate as shown in Fig. 2, and extend inward about one-third the width of the piece.

what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the flat strips B B with notches b b, alternating on both edges as shown, and the bent. strips 0 0 cut and fitting into said notches, as shown, andforming half pockets, all substantially as set forth.
