JOHN TABACCO, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK.
BALLOON TOY.
To all whomit may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN TABACCO, now a subject of Italy, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Balloon Toys, of which the following is a specification This invention relates to a toy, the principal object of the invention being to provide a wind wheel and a balloon with means for inflating the balloon and causing the escaping air therefrom to rotate the wind wheel.
Another object of the invention is to provide a tubular member, to one end of which the balloon is fastened, and to which the arm is connected which supports the wind wheel, said tube also supporting a flexible tube which is blown through for inflating the balloon.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure l is an elevation of the device with parts broken away.
Fig. 2 is a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a detail view.
In these views 1 indicates a metal tube of conical shape, to the large end of which the mouth of the balloon 2 is secured. an arm 3 is suitably secured to said tub and this arm extends to a point well in front of the small end of the tube where it is provided with an upright portion hich supports a pin wheel 4. A nipple 5 is connected with the tube 1 intermediate its ends and this nipple receives the end of a flexible tube 6.
The lower end of the tube receives the mouth piece 7' which is provided with a check valve 8.
It will thus be seen that by blowing Specification of Letters Patent.

through the tube 6 the balloon will be inflated, the small end of the tube 1 being so small as to retard the passage of air therethrough, thus permitting the balloon to be inflated. The air escaping through this small end will strike the pin wheel and cause the same to revolve and after the balloon is inflated and the person ceases to blow through the tube 6 the air escaping from said balloon will continue to rotate the pin wheel. If desired I may provide a valve 9 for closing the small end of the tube 1 so that the balloon may be held inflated for a time without rotating the wheel. Then by opening this valve the air will escape from the balloon and revolve the wheel.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
IVhat I claim is:
l. A device of the class described comprising a tube, a balloon connected with one end thereof, an arm having one end connected with the tube, a wheel supported by said arm in front of the other end of the tube, a tube having one end connected with the first mentioned tube intermediate its ends, a mouth-piece and check valve carried by said second tube and a valve in the first mentioned tube located between the open end thereof and the connection of the second tube.
2. A device of the class described comprising a tube, a balloon connected with one end thereof, an arm supported by the tube having an upright portion at one end, a pin wheel supported by said upright portion in front of the other end of the tube, a flexible tube having one end connected with the first mentioned tube and a mouth piece and check valve carried by said flexible tube.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
JOHN TABACCO.
