One of the objects of this invention is to provide a hygienic garment for women and children.

Another object is to have a garment swlng from the shoulders so" that the-abdominal front is entirely free as used by adults.

Another object is to' have the garment swing from the" shoulders, the suspending front members being provided with snap-- buttons or fasteners and extra straps for fastening --garments of children- Another objectris to *provide a garment to or by which other pieces can be fastened without unnecessary pressure to the'wearer.

Most garments and supporters to which this device has relation and reference are worn and tied around the hip or waist or some other part of the body of the wearer, thereby naturally causing pressure, eventually on some vital organs.

that other garments can be attached and supported.

In the illustration of Fig. 1, the shoulder straps 6 and 7 are provided with cross'straps 8 and 9 in a position to come across the back over. about the middle of the shoulder 3 1 blades. A buckle or clasp 10 is provided for adjusting the space between the twoshoulder straps 6 and 7. Other cross straps 11 and '12 are provided on the shoulder straps at about the point of the waist line of the wearer. A buckle or clasp 13 is provided in these cross straps foradjustmentsbetween theshoulder straps at this point. The straps 11 and 12 continue in the waist line or near this point and attach to the front portions of the shoulder straps, as inclicated at 14. Garter tapes or straps 15 are secured to the lower terminations of the shoulder straps by. the buckles or clasps 16. Stocking grips 17 are provided near the lower terminationsof the garter straps 15. A number of buttons or snaps or fasteners '18- are provided for fastening other garments to this device and thereby supporting such other garments by means of this garment or device. At all points where the cross straps pass over the shoulder straps, there is naturally a doublethicknessof material, suflicient to securely hold a fastener,

but at the points 19 in the back straps 11 and 12 there is naturally only a single thick ness of material. This is preferably reinforced by an extra piece of material as indicated in the illustration in Fig. 4, the.

The garter part of the device is preferably of non-elastic web in the whole length. The shoulder straps are preferably of non-elastic web, in Fig. 1, however, illustrated as provided with short insertions of elastic material at suitable and desired points as indicated at 26, 27 28 and 29. The takeup and let-outplan for sizes, possible by the use of the several clasps and buckles, is preferably made in the front and back of .31 in the back straps across the back, a very fine shoulder brace is provided. This brace is for correcting the tendency to round shoulders andtends to prevent a developing of round shoulders. The: extension ends, illustrated and indicated in dotted lines at 33. and 32, are attachments to be used for children to continue the straps from the points 14 in the front portions of-the shoulder straps. Extra fasteners 34 are provided on these extensions for fastening childrens garments. V

In the illustration in Fig. 6, the shoulder straps 35 and 36. are naturally the equivalentsof theshoulder straps 6 and 7 illustrated in Fig. 1. This illustration, in Fig. 6, represents the device most practical for the everyday use. The lower ends 3'7 may, of course, be of any suitable-length for adjustably holding stocking grips. The material of the device is preferably ofstrong non-elastic web. The web, being non-elastic, does away with the usual unsatisfactory perishable elastic web. The garment may e washed and not injured. The life of the garment is therefore measured and subiect only tov the durability of the webused.

he same garter attachments, indicated at 15, 16 and 17 in Fig. 1, may naturallyalso be used on the lower ends 37 of the shoulder straps '35and 36. There may also, naturally be any number of buttons or'fasteners for attaching petticoats, dress skirts, shirtwaists, and other similar garments so used 1 and attached. The back strap 38 is the equivalent of the back straps 8 and 9, and 4 serves the same purposes, namely to help to prevent round shoulders. Other straps 39 are preferably arranged to reach around the whole body so as to keep the device or garment in place, comfortably supporting and confining the bust and at the same time garment swings freely from the shoulders, thereby making it a comfortable and satis factory supporter and device of its particular class. It leaves the abdominal front free. The whole device,can easily be ar ranged as described above in relation and with reference to Figs. 1, 2, and 3; and can easily be provided with any suitable. number of insertions and attachments for the athletic and swimming girl, as will easily be understood, without departing from the principle of this invention.

Having thus described my invention, I claim: i V
