This invention relates particularly to a tool for operating and cleaning pet-cocks.

An object of the invention is to provide a simple, compact tool .which may be used as a wrench, to grasp and turn the handle of a pet-cock to open and close the'same, and which also may be used as a prod to clean the opening in the cock.

Another object is to provide a combined wrench and prod in which each instrument acts as a handle to properly position and readily operate the otheiinstrument.

The tool is especially adaptable for manipulating the drain cocks located in places not readily accessible, such, for example, as the cooks in the bottom of automobile radiators, especially those that are so placed in Ford cars.

continuous rod. or wire of sufficient diameter, bent'at right angles, as at 8, and returned upon itself, as at 9, to provide a hook which lies in a plane substantially at rightangles to the plane of the body of the rod. This-hook forms a wrench for engage- .ment with the handle 10 of the pet-cock which provide a pet-cock cleaning hook which lies in a. plane substantially at right angles to the plane of the first hook. Portion 13 is tapered at its end, as at 14. The part 13. is intended for insertion in the registering passage ways of the cock 6 when the valve 10 is open, as shown in- .Fig. 2, so as to clean out any dirt or accumulation that may be enmassed therein. Parts 12 and 13 serve as a handle when the device is used as a wrench, and parts 8 and 9 serve as a handle when the opposite end is employed for cleaning a pet-cock, as shown in Fig. 2. The

length of the handle, or shank portion 7, enables a person to reach apet-cock that may be inconveniently and otherwise inaccessibly located.

The tool is very handy and convenient and adapted for opening and closing the valve of a pet-cock and cleaning the same, by simply reversing the ends of the tool. The parts 12 and 13 being in a plane substantially at right angles to the opening between the parts 8 and 9, the operator can tell, by the position of the part 13, the position of the handle 10 of the valve, so that he is enabled to ascertain thereby whether or not the valve is opened or closed. Having described my invention, what I claim is A tool comprising a rod having one end bent into a hook for fitting over the handle of a pet-cock to turn the same and lying in a plane substantially at right angles to' the plane of the body of the rod, and having its other end bent into a pet-cock cleaning hook Which lies in the plane of the body of the rod at which the plane of the first hook is at right angles, said hooks acting alternately as handles for properly positioning and readily operating the hook at the other end.
